The first deployment of Umoja included Procurement, Finance, Budget, and Asset Management and is known as Umoja Foundation. Foundation replaced or phased out numerous legacy software programmes including IMIS, Sun, Mercury, Procure-Plus and Galileo in the field. In 2014, Umoja rolled out additional functionalities related to Human Resources, travel and personnel entitlements, known as Umoja Extension 1, including Employee and Manager Self-Service internet portals. Umoja Extension 2, consisting of functionality related mainly to budget formulation, programme management, conference and event management will be designed in 2015 and rolled-out starting early 2017. CLUSTER 1 - FOUNDATION REAL ESTATE NOV 2013 1 NOV 2014 Umoja Foundation has been implemented across all Peacekeeping Operations globally. Real Estate management deployed to all remaining UN Secretariat entities. CLUSTER 2 - FOUNDATION CLUSTER 3 - INTEGRATION MAR 2014 Umoja Foundation has been implemented across 17 Special Political Missions, bringing Umoja to more than 300 locations globally and over 4,000 colleagues using Umoja to process and manage finance, procurement, logistics and supply chain transactions.
