Reading]) Yellow Jacket Scholar $56,000 $14,000 $7,000 (Top 50% at an Accredited High School or 2.50 GPA) AND (ACT 19 OR New SAT 990 OR Old SAT 910 [Math + Crit. Reading]) Academic Incentive Grant $28,000 $7,000 $3,500 Awarded to students who demonstrate strong academic promise. *Those who receive this grant may move up to the Yellow Jacket Scholarship level following their second consecutive semester. This move in scholarship level is based upon the successful completion of the Provisional Program, as certified by The Collegium. Such increase in a scholarship award may require adjustment of the total aid. For the Heart of Texas, Legacy and Central Texas Scholarships, students must meet unconditional admission requirements, remain continuously enrolled in fall and spring semesters and maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress toward a degree to receive the award. Heart of Texas Scholarship $60,000 $15,000 $7,500 Awarded to high school students who graduate from a high school in for First-Year Students one of the following counties and are unconditionally admitted: Brown, Callahan, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, McCulloch, Mills and San Saba counties. Central Texas Scholarship for First-Year Students $60,000 $15,000 $7,500 Awarded to high school students who graduate from a high school in one of the following counties and are unconditionally admitted: Bell, Blanco, Bosque, Burnet, Coke, Concho, Coryell, Erath, Fisher, Gillespie, Hamilton, Hill, Hood, Johnson, Jones, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Lampasas, Llano, Mason, McLennan, Menard, Nolan, Palo Pinto, Runnels, Schleicher, Shackelford, Somervell, Stephens, Sutton, Taylor, Tom Green and Williamson counties. Legacy Scholarship for First-Year Students $60,000 $15,000 $7,500 Awarded to high school students whose parent or grandparent graduated from Howard Payne University. Guy D. Newman Honors Academy Scholar awards may include a combination of institutional and Honors Academy scholarship sources. Acceptance and participation in the Guy D. Newman Honors Academy program is required. An interview with the Director of the Honors Academy is required. Academy Scholar – Level I Full-Tuition Full-Tuition Full-Tuition (Top 10% at an Accredited High School or 3.80 GPA) AND (ACT 29 OR New SAT 1350 OR Old SAT 1290 [Math + Crit. Reading]) 3.25 Cumulative GPA required for renewal. A maximum of 5 awards will be made. Official college transcripts are required to substantiate the cumulative GPA and the number of transferrable credit hours. The scholarship is for tuition only and the student must be enrolled full-time. An application must be obtained from and approved by the Dean of the School of Christian Studies (325.649.8403) prior to the first semester’s registration period. Renewal review occurs annually. Baptist Ministerial Scholarship $1,500 $750 May be awarded to Baptist ministerial students who present a license, certification of ordination, or letter of certification from a Baptist Church and meet all requirements set by the Theological Education Council of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. An application must be obtained from and approved by the Dean of the School of Christian Studies (325.649.8403) prior to the first semester’s registration period. Renewal review occurs annually. HPU Sibling Grant $1,000 $500 Full-time students at HPU who have one or more siblings also enrolled at HPU fulltime will qualify for $500/semester. Siblings must be from the same household. Awards are considered on a semester-by-semester basis. The scholarship awards below are for tuition only and may be combined with other scholarships on this flier.
