From the Administrator: Dear Anchor Family, • Congratulations again to all who participated in the fall drama, “The Spell of Sleeping Beauty.” All involved did an amazing job using their God-given abilities to come together and entertain. A special thank you goes to the many parents who supported the show, and again to Mrs. Scriven for her direction. This was Mrs. Scriven’s last Fall Drama with us at Anchor, as she will be relocating next Fall to the Portland area, due to Mr. Scriven’s job. We are very grateful for her and all the effort she has put forth in the past 6 years of shows! • Great appreciation goes to all parents and volunteers who are helping plan, prepare, serve, and clean up tomorrow’s Thanksgiving Lunch. I am sure it will be another fine event in a long tradition of Thanksgiving celebrations at Anchor; your gifts of time and talents will be a blessing to us all. Thank you again! • We still need help to reach our goals for the Thanksgiving Day of Blessing Food Drive. We still need cans of green beans and corn. We’re collecting through this Sunday. Distribution of Thanksgiving Baskets takes place around town on Monday. Our Junior High students will be sharing their “Heart to Serve” all day at Central Lutheran Church helping prepare food baskets for later in the day. • As we wrap up the food drive, we move right on to our next service project activity. Anchor Lutheran and Beautiful Savior will partner on Sunday, December 4, to make fleece tied blankets (both baby and teen sizes) for Crisis Pregnancy Center and Covenant House. Our goal is to make 100! On the 4th, the 10:30 worship service will flow right into blanket creation at 11:00, and we’ll work up and through lunch. All are encouraged to attend this great family event. You can already help: we’re encouraged to start bringing in fleece donations. Fleece needs to be two 1-yard pieces for baby blankets, two 2-yard pieces for teens (43-45” wide). • All programs are closed next week on Thursday and Friday (November 24 & 25) for Thanksgiving Break. There will be no Child Care or Child Watch, and the Office will be closed. We wish you a blessed Thanksgiving celebration. School resumes Monday, November 28.
