The FreshBiz Experience
The Game
Ten words: “Play the game. Get smarter in business and in life.”
FreshBiz is the game for the development of entrepreneurial & multi-dimensional thinking.
The game was created by Ronen Gafni over a 6 year period (from 2004-2010), is meant for 3-4 players at a
board, and is suitable for all ages.
FreshBiz is a game that fundamentally changes the way people play business and life, by simulating and
then practicing new, creative methods of entrepreneurial thinking and problem solving to achieve their
most vital goals. Learning the new lingo, language, and distinctions enrich the prism through which people
conduct themselves.
Through its game-based learning, participants travel through the game on a mission to be a winner, while
gaining skills, understandings and strategies that not only help them to achieve the goals of the game, but
also to excel in their lives.
Utilizing common business practices, and years of insights from entrepreneurs, FreshBiz uses tools such as
buying/selling businesses, leveraging, negotiations, loans, business opportunities and much more to
simulate a dynamic business environment. Simultaneously, relationships are created and the atmosphere
of the room buzzes as participants engage in creative entrepreneurial, multi-dimensional thinking.
Research has shown that only 5% of information taught using old school methods is retained over time
while 90% of experiential learning is retained. Game-based learning incorporates fun with real experience.
Insights gained during a 60-90 minute game last far into the future, as our participants claim that the game
impacts them from the moment they play for the rest of their lives. There is a distinction between change
and transformation. Working harder, doing something less, spending more time on something else are all
examples of change, while transformation through FreshBiz is a total shift in paradigm and mind
expansion.

The Book - ‘The New Entreprenuerz’
In 2013, Wiley’s Publishing asked us to share our thoughts and concepts in a book that we call, “The New
Entrepreneurz: Changing the Way You Play Life.” Times have changed, and in this New Shared Economy,
opportunities are everywhere and resources are abundant if we just learn to see them. We need to refresh
our perspective. The book, which will be released in Q4 of 2014, provides a game-changing game-based
approach to molding your mind and developing a fresh entrepreneurial mentality. One that focuses on
working smart & on collaborative winning. Advocating not for simple change, but for total transformation,
this book shifts the paradigm for all those interested in running a smart purpose driven business.
The Digital Version
The digital version of FreshBiz gives you the ability to play the game on your iPad or PC (and soon on your
Androids as well). You can play alone, with friends online or with people from around the world whom you
haven’t even met yet. The game’s multi-lingual features allow players speaking different languages to play
together on the same board, truly making the world a small and connected place. This means that you’ll be
able to connect with up to 3 other players/partners, each playing FreshBiz in his or her own language,
essentially building a bridge towards meaningful offline partnerships around the globe.

The Game-Based Workshops and Experiences
To deepen the learning experience of entrepreneurial thinking, we have designed the “FreshBiz Curriculum
for Entrepreneurial Development;” a series of game-based workshops and experiences.
We also encourage coaches and trainers to take the FreshBiz board game and incorporate it into the
training that they are already doing so that they too may achieve the same high level of retention for their
curriculum.
During the FreshBiz game and workshops, we address the following areas:
1 What resources are available to me and how can they serve my highest goals.
2 Being bold, proactive, and creative.
3 How to create Win-Win Situations (expanding the pie).
4 Developing flexibility and adaptability with ease.
5 Identifying partners, developing joint ventures, and crafting valuable partnerships.
6 What does winning mean and how can we WIN in our lives.
7 Learning to identify new opportunities and/or be powerful in creating them.
8 Experience MDET (Multi-Dimensional Entrepreneurial Thinking) and learn to achieve quantum leaps in
business and life.

What we have accomplished so far
Intro
Since completing the development of the game in 2010, and turning the FreshBiz venture into a company,
we have invested mainly in building the FreshBiz brand and assets worldwide; testing the waters in a wide
variety of audiences, cultures and countries.
Building the FreshBiz brand and assets have required a tremendous investment by the founders. Up till
now, the founders have invested over $600,000 of their own money (including Ronen selling his house)
into the process.
In the last 2.5 years we have raised an additional $360,000 that has been invested in completing the
development of the digital game, manufacturing our board-games inventory (5,000 games) and
strengthening the brand. (We currently have another $50,000 allocated for marketing once the digital
development is complete).

Global Market Insights
In the last 3 years, the FreshBiz team has invested in hands-on global market testing (because that is the
only effective way to research experience-based products and services). We took FreshBiz around the
world, doing market research on how different markets and audiences respond to the game and the
workshops.
Over 20,000 people, from ages 12 to 70, from over 20 countries including the USA, Africa, UK, Denmark,
Singapore, India, Spain, Mexico, Peru, Israel, Russia, and more, have played the game and participated in
the workshops.
We already have licensed representatives running FreshBiz activities worldwide, currently active in the
following countries: Israel, Spain, Russia, Mexico, USA, Portugal and Poland.
During this period we also managed to generate revenues of around $350,000, mostly from workshop
activities and facilitators’ licensing (and sales of 1,500 games).

Our main insights:

The FreshBiz game is appealing to a very wide variety of audiences. We’ve recieved great
feedback from all the different segments we approached (more on the segments in the
‘Market’ section.)

The FreshBiz experience has the power to change the way people act and react in business and
life. We have collected many testimonials from people who shared the long lasting effect that
the experience has had on their lives, and hundreds more who share in the excitement and
enjoyment from the experience.

The major growth of the company will come from mass sales of the game and the book.

incredible results. This should absolutely be our main stand alone product.

What is coming Next:
New graphic design of the board game: A lot of great work is being done to improve the graphics of the
board game as part of developing the digital version of the game. The next batch that is printed (Q4 of
2014) should already have the same graphic design in the printed version as in the digital version.
The New Island game: Among the special events that we want to develop and offer will be what we call
the “New Island” Game. This is where people can come to few days of Special FreshBiz Workshops and
development taking place on a real island.

Children - FreshBiz is an effective tool for the educational system because it’s a game that develops
entrepreneurial and creative thinking in children like nothing else can. It’s a fun, interactive, and dynamic
way to learn, that is already in line with the natural rhythm and pace of children and therefore makes for a
perfect fit.
Families - FreshBiz is a great game for casual gamers. Families can spend hours of intimate fun and get to
explore family teamwork through playing FreshBiz. Games like Monopoly and CashFlow are massive
successes in the family segments and FreshBiz fits right into this category as an innovative and fresh
product, which combines hours of fun with real educational added value. Families that play FreshBiz share
the deep impact the game has on the way they now talk about money, business and collaboration among

Students - FreshBiz is a premium tool to instill in MBA students the elements of entrepreneurial thinking.

The vision of FreshBiz is to build a global community of FreshBizers (FBZers), players who share the
excitement of playing the game of life with a fresh entrepreneurial mind set.
From our experience, our customers turn into true fans of the game and the methodology of our
curriculum, and they want to be treated as a community or a tribe rather than just as customers.
We also see the community as serving both our vision and our business model, since we view FreshBiz as a
long lasting and ever evolving product that is constantly at the cutting edge of entrepreneurial thinking.
We see the USA market as a model for how our business should be built up in regions around the globe.
we plan on sticking to a slim franchised structure allowing local representative in each region to own and
manage the FreshBiz activity in their region rather than a large corporate structure trying to fully control all
the activity around the globe ourselves.
Income channels
The FreshBiz Board Game – The board game itself is sold for around 85$ (depending on the region), and is
sold through the following channels: direct sales on the freshbizgame.com website, online retails sellers
like Amazon.com, offline retailers and special shops, as an integral part of the FreshBiz workshops and
experiences, bulk purchasing by organizations and conference organizers, and we are always open to
additional Smartnership ideas.
The FreshBiz Digital Game – will be sold through online app stores like the apple App Store and others.
The Game will be sold for $7 in a pay-to-download model.
Future version may include an in-game purchasing model as well.
The Book - In August of 2014, ‘The New Entrepreneurz’ is scheduled to be released by Wiley’s Publishing.
FreshBiz will enjoy royalties from all sales in the US and worldwide (once available.) In addition, FreshBiz
can initiate sales of the book. The retail price for the book in the USA is currently set by Wiley at $23.
The Bundle - The perfect opportunity to complete your first level FreshBiz experience. Getting the book
and the game means that you’ll reading and practicing smart new ways of playing business and life.
Game extensions – Every successful game comes with a set of extensions, those are add-ons to the original
game or different versions of it. In FreshBiz we will have game Extensions such as new sets of avatars,

action cards, business opportunities, businesses, skins (Same game mechanism but with a different graphic
theme) and more.
These will be available once we have sold our first few thousands of games.
Merchandising - In the future, FreshBiz will offer various merchandising items such as T-Shirts, posters,
bling, and more…these will of course appeal to returning customers as well as first timers.
FreshBiz Events & Experiences - The FreshBiz founders and licensed partners offer a great variety of Talks
and game-based experiences around the globe. Events can generate revenues of 10,000$-100,000$ per
event.
Business Center License – A license to act as a FreshBiz Business Center in a region (Country or a State).
We will offer one Business Center (BC) license per region – A BC license will be priced between $150,000$300,000. The prices range depending on the size of the region and the level of the local economy. The
original investment includes an initial inventory stock of 5,000 games for the local Business Center.
Training Packages – Special training kits for trainers, coaches, team managers and educators. These kits
include several games and books, presentations and several different training sessions for DIY personal and
professional development.
Training packages are priced around $300-$500.
