Changing your Password in Millennium
Log into Millennium using your Oracle/Banner ID and Password.
Check the ‘Notifications’ block on the bottom, middle of the screen after log in.
Starting at 14 days prior to your password expiring, there will be a notice that your password will expire in # of days.
The # of days will decline as you get closer to the end date. In the last 3 days, the message will change to a
**WARNING**. Click on the ‘Click Here’ link to change your password as indicated.
Be sure to change your password before it expires. Failure to change the password in Millennium before the expiry
date will result in your in your account being locked. Once locked, you will only be able to change your password
from Banner, which requires you to be on a Laurier networked machine, or logged into VPN.
If you cannot sign into Millennium, you can try to do so in Banner. There is a short grace period provided in Banner
before your account will be locked.
However, if your account is locked, complete the following ICT Service Desk Banner, Cognos and Millennium
Password Change Form to have your password reset. ICT will provide you with a temporary password.
NOTE: You cannot log into Millennium with a temporary password. Password changes using a temporary
password must be done in Banner.
To change your password within Millennium prior to the expiration date; enter your current password then your new
password and confirm your new password as indicated on the password change form.
1) the password must be at least 6 characters long
2) the password must contain at least one letter and one number
3) the password cannot contain any of the punctuation marks
@$&"(),<>`;=#
4) the password cannot be the same as your Banner user name
5) previous passwords cannot be reused for 3 years
Click on the ‘GO’ button to submit your change. The change will be
immediate.
Once it is changed you will use this new password to log into Millennium or Banner.
NOTE: Do not use a password that you have used in the past. Your new password will expire in 90 days.
If you get the following error, you have most likely tried to use a password that you have previously used, or your
password does not meet the. Click ‘OK’, try something else. If you still have problems, then try to change your
password in Banner.
An information box will appear when your password has been successfully changed.
NOTE: There will be two messages within the information box, the first is an error message and the second confirms
that your password was successfully changed. You can ignore the error, the password change was successful!
Click on ‘OK’. You will be returned to the Millennium home screen.
