almost 1,000 faculty and another 1,000 staff and administrators at Chico State.

There are five advertising positions on The Orion home page, which receives the most traffic on the website, and as many as
five advertising positions on “insdie” pages containing individual articles.
The Orion offers ads that rotate with as many as four other ads in each position and static ads, which never rotate.
The two ad positions at the top of the home page and the two positions at the bottom of the home page actually appear on
every page of the website. The rectangle ad that appears in the right column of the home page only appears on the home
page. The rectangle ads that appear on the inside (article) pages only appear on those pages.
The prices and sizes below reflect one-month options for both static and rotating ads. Design services are available for an

The Orion mobile app
Just over 1,000 people have downloaded The Orion mobile app onto
their smartphones or tablets, so our audience is still building. But that
does make advertising on the app a comparative bargain.
A banner ad that contains a link to an
outside website can be purchased for
$30 a week (Friday to Thursday) or
$100 a calendar month. App banners
don’t rotate, so these ads will have no
competition from other ad messages.

The Orion weekly newspaper
Chico State’s national award-winning paper is downsizing this semester to
a tabloid format, which means the size of the paper will be approximately
half as large as the current 11-by-21-inch broadsheet paper. Page-count
will double, so just as much space will be devoted to news, sports, opinion
and entertainment coverage as in the past. Advertisers like this format
because a half-page ad in the larger paper is now a full-page ad in a
tabloid, providing visual dominance of a page for the same cost.
