Ella Clarke on Sophie
My name’s Ella Clark and I'm 16 years old, I have ridden for England for three years, receiving European
champions 2014 in Belgium, Reserve world champions in France 2014, world team champions 2015 in America
where we were riding pool ponies and was a true fight till the end of the highly competitive competition held
by the US MGA.
My pony Sophie I have had for 2 years now, this being my first competitive season on her, this will be my last
year in under 17's as I will be in open next year. I ride for Bedfordshire Juniors and Bedfordshire Blue Open
riding my novices. I am looking forward to going abroad very much with my fantastic teammates and ready to
try our best to be crowned champions.
Victoria Dakin on Smokey
I have ridden horses since I was 3 years old and began Mounted Games in Pony Club at the age of 5. In Pony
Club I rode at Horse Of the Year Show in 2014 (reserve champions), and at Royal Windsor Horse Show in 2013
(reserve champions) and in 2014 (champions).
My pony, Smokey, is 24 years old and I have been lucky enough to have him on loan for the past 3 years. We
ride on the county team of Brecon. I am currently studying for my A levels, at Bishop Heber High School.
Sammi Garrett on Arrow
Hi, I'm Sammi Garrett and I'm 17 years old. I live in Hertfordshire with my family. I have been lucky enough to
represent England on many occasions taking the win each time; U12 England team in Northern Ireland 2011
and U14 England team in Ireland 2013!! I have also represented England south on many occasions in 2009
2011 and 2016!! I competed at the Horse of the years show in 2013 with my pony club team, in 2011 and 2012
I won there. I also represented England at the Royal Windsor horse show in 2014. I am extremely excited to
represent England this year with my pony Arrow and can't wait to compete at the World and European team
championships!!
Megan Gurton on Grace
I am 17 and from The New Forest, Hampshire, England. I have been riding since I was 2 and doing Mounted
Games since I was 8. My pony Grace is 20 and I have owned her 3 years. We were runners up at the World
Pairs last year and were part of the winning team at the Home Internationals in 2013, 2015 and 2016. We ride
for Bedfordshire in England. Apart from Mounted Games I enjoy jumping and eventing with my other horses
and I also play netball for my local team.
Zack Mallalieu on Splash
I am 17 years old and am currently doing an engineering apprenticeship. I have owned Splash my pony since
September 2015, I am pleased that we are representing England in the under 17 team. Splash dislikes
strangers but can be won round with food! My hobbies are shooting, racing and training my 9 month old
Labrador called Jäger in my spare time.
Reserve Will Thirlby on Rupert
William Thirlby, age 17. World team champion 2015. 7th in world individual in 2015
In great British pony club team. I'm in the Great Britain team for Frisbee coming 3rd in the European
championships and started point to point racing this season.
