The meeting was called to order at 7:36 pm. Roll call: Role call was read by Leslie Crandell. All were present with the exception of Palo Alto, Photochrome, Joan Field, Sam Berzin, and Amory Donaldson. Minutes were read and approved. Minutes: President: Vice President: Nothing to report. Jane Postiglione said that an extra projector cord from Fotoclave was given to Gene Albright. Jane brought extra stickers and ribbons to the meeting that are no longer needed. Jane presented the first draft of the N4C annual banquet flyer with the group. The banquet will be January 8th 2012. Jane said that steak was removed for the annual banquet menu due to the fact that it was over $30.00 which would have increased the price of all the dinners. Door prizes and raffle were discussed for the annual banquet. Tom Debley said that door prizes are getting harder to obtain due to the economy. Ed Mestre made a motion to eliminate door prizes and the raffle at the upcoming N4C banquet in January. Joe Hearst seconded the motion. The motion was carried. Jane said that Teri is handling registrations for the banquet and we need an additional person to help Teri. Ed Mestre and John Goyer have volunteered to help set with the banquet set up. Jane asked who would be bringing the 6 print racks for the banquet. It was mentioned that Joan Field has a truck that could hold the racks but Joan was not present to comment. It was also mentioned that Jorge Brown had brought the print racks to past banquets. Dean McCoy, Bob Wehrmeister, Joe Hearst, Jane Postiglione and Stephen Busch will help set up the 6 print racks starting at 9:30am the day of the banquet. Joe Hearst said that he wants to get rid of some print racks he has in his garage. Jane Postiglione said that she is interested in taking them. Gene Albright will be the projectionist at the banquet. 8 first place plaques, 331 certificates and 30 medals will be needed for the banquet. John Goyer will be the Master of Ceremonies for the banquet. John Goyer said that he would like Ellie Webster to present the installation of officers. Projector and Print Chairs will read the winners at the banquet. Jane said that the annual N4C competition judging will be Dec. 17 th from 9am-3pm at the Gateway December 2011 Page 7 of 12 complex in Rossmoor. Teri will be a projectionist. Another projectionist and scorers are needed. Joan Field has a scoring machine that she will bring and Berkeley also has one. Joe Hearst announced that he would not be at the annual judging and will give the judges phone numbers to Jane. Jane will bring lunch and breakfast to the annual judging. Rent and judges paid this month. A check was issued to Gene Albright for medals. Teri received a $25 check from Diablo Valley for a N4C banquet cash prize. Treasurer: Secretary: Nothing to report. Judges Chair: Joe Hearst said that 9 judges have been recruited for the annual N4C judging. The upcoming monthly judges in November are Barrie Bieler, PI and Ian Bornarth, Prints. January judges will be Barbara Mallon and Dick Stahlke, and February will be Gene Morita and Ellie Webster. Print Chair: Winning prints will not be returned to printers this month because they will go to N4C judging. EI Coordinator: Gene said that he is putting together a spreadsheet for images that have been received and not been received for the N4C annual judging. Foto Fanfare Editor: Amory Donaldson was not present. PSA: Joe Hearst said that new Yerba Buena Chapter officers were installed. Dick Stahlke will be the Chair, Louise Shouse will be the Assistant Chair. A date is going to be set for Yerba Buena Chapter day next spring. Fotoclave: Joan Field was not present but Ed Mestre mentioned that a follow up meeting with the board will be held to evaluate this year’s event. Webmaster: Not present Old Business: Nothing to report. New Business: Gene Albright recommended changing our annual N4C banquet to February which would move the annual judging to January. Dean McCoy made a motion to move the annual N4C judging to January and the annual N4C banquet to February starting in 2013. Tom Debley seconded the motion. The motion was carried.
