WHAT:
More than 100 of the top male and female elite longdistance runners in the United States, including 2016
USA Track & Field Olympic team members and past
Half Marathon national champions will be in
Columbus for the 2016 USATF Half Marathon
Championships in conjunction with the 2016
OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon.
The Greater Columbus Sports Commission and
OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon, which jointly
bid on the national championships in 2012 and were
awarded the event for 2016 and 2017, will host a press
conference with several of these elite long-distance runners.

The following speakers will share in-person their thoughts heading into competing for
the national championship within The OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon:
 David Babner – M3S Sports, OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon
 Nick Arciniaga – 2014 USATF Marathon National Champion and 2015 Cap City Half
winner
 Janet Bawcom – 10-time national road-race champion, 3rd Place at 2015 USATF Half
Marathon Championships
 Shadrack Biwott – 2013 USATF Half Marathon Championship Runner-up
 Craig Leon – Ohio native who finished 8th in 2015 New York City Marathon
 Desi Linden – 2012 & 2016 U.S. Olympic Marathon Team Member
