General Information
Thank you for entering our 9th Annual Huntley Hoop Fest feeder

location. No additions to the tournament roster will be allowed after this
roster has been submitted. The team roster may consist of no more than
15 players and 3 coaches. Persons not listed on the roster will not be
allowed at the team bench during the game.
Designated Home Team
The team listed first will be designated as the home team on the
scoreboard and will wear their white (light) colored jerseys and sit to the

provided for this. Scoreboards will be operated by tournament staff and
volunteers from the Huntley High School Boys’ Basketball team.

Head coaches are responsible for ensuring their names and numbers
are on the official score sheet for their game no later than 5 minutes prior
to the scheduled game start.
All games will start at their scheduled time. Should injury or overtime
cause a court to be delayed, teams will receive a minimum of five (5)
minutes of pre-game warm up time.
Game time is forfeit time. Any team not ready to begin play when the
scoreboard operator and officials are set to begin at the published game
time may be forced to forfeit their game. A forfeit will be scored as a 15-0
win for the non-forfeiting team. The tournament director will have the final
decision on declaring any forfeits.
All games will be played with seven (7) minute quarters. Overtime
periods will be three (3) minutes in length. Halftime will be three (3)
minutes long.
Teams will receive the normal 5 timeouts per game (three full and two
30-second timeouts). An additional full timeout will be added for each
overtime period.
5th - Man to man defense is the only defense allowed the entire game, Full
court pressure may only be applied in the fourth quarter and as long as
there is not more than a 20 point lead. NO ZONE PRESS OR ANY ZONE
FULL COURT OR HALF COURT. 28.5 size ball
6th, 7th & 8th grade defense - IHSA rules apply with no defensive
restrictions, except no full court press if you have a lead of 20 or more
points. 29.5 size ball
Team listed first will be the home team and wear White or light colored
jersey.
• Games will utilize a 30 point mercy rule. This calls for a running clock
in the fourth quarter to be implemented whenever a team is leading by
30 or more points. The clock will stop only for all time-outs, all injuries,
and free-throws in the final minute.
Protests on judgment calls will not be allowed. Any other protests must be
declared to the scorer’s table and officials at the time of the incident and
decided before the game proceeds any further in the following manner:
o The protesting coach must notify one of the game officials directly or
notify the clock operator who will sound the horn to get the officials
attention.
o At all times, proper sportsmanship and bench decorum must be
maintained during this process. Technical fouls issued for
improper behavior during the course of a protest will not be
reversed, regardless of the outcome of the protest.
o The referees will meet with both head coaches at the scorer’s table to
discuss the situation, and if necessary the tournament director will be
called to make a ruling. The director will make the ruling in person, or
communicate via cellular phone with the site supervisor if the director
is not on site.
o IF THE PROTEST IS UPHELD the appropriate action will be taken
and the game restarted from the point of interruption.
o IF THE PROTEST IS DENIED the protesting team will lose all of its
remaining timeouts and the head coach of the protesting team will
be charged with a direct technical foul.
• Participants ejected from a game will be required to serve a minimum one
game suspension. All ejections will be reviewed by the tournament
director, and suspensions may be lengthened based on the incident.
Any participant ejected for fighting will be suspended from the remainder of
the tournament.
• Standings- Determination of final standings for divisions will be
determined by the following (in order):
o Overall Record
o Head to Head Result
o Average Points Against
o Average Point Differential (max+/- 15 per game)
o Free Throw Shootout- each team will choose three shooters to
participate, who will alternate turns until each shooter has taken one
shot. Any teams still tied will continue to shoot in the same order in
sudden death rounds until the tie is broken. (Note:In some cases the
Free Throw Shootout may take place concurrently in separate gyms
with each site supervisor observing the team in their gym while
communicating with each other by cell phone.)
In the event more than two teams are tied, the list will be used until
one or more teams have been eliminated, at which time any
remaining tied teams would then start again at the top of the list.
Example: If three teams are tied and Lowest Defensive Scoring
average is the first criteria to eliminate one of the teams, the remaining
two teams would be compared again starting at the top of the list
where Head to Head Result may be able to be applied, rather than
ranking the defensive scoring average 1-3 and taking the best one.
