SUMMARY
F. FIXER
!
a not mixed with water.
Test fixer strength using the leader from the film
i. place film into fixer and time how long
it takes for film to turn clear.
ii. double the time for “i” and use that
time for the total fixing time.
b. Pour in fixer
c. Agitate for 10 sec when filled.
d. Tap on table and let sit for 30 sec
e. Repeat “c” and “d” until complete time is over
G. Hypoclear
This process helps get
the fixer off faster.
i. use a ratio of 4 parts water to 1 part hypoclear
ii. fill tank
iii. agitate for 1 minute
iv. do not return
H. T ake out the reels from the tank and wash for 5 minutes
in the reel cleaners and place under the faucet
with the water running through the center of the
reels. Do not remove film from reel nor pull film out
to see pictures. You may only check to see if the
film has turned clear. If it is slightly purple that is fine.
*if your film is cloudy it needs to be fixed again or parts of your
film were touching and cannot be saved.
I. Place washed reels back in your cleaned tank and
fill with water.
J. Place a a few small drops of PHOTOFLO in the water.
i. Gently lift reels 2 times and let them
sink back down into the water.
ii. Do not create too many bubbles.
K. Bring your tanks near the film drying cabinet and remove
film from the reels without touching the center or
ground. If it touches anything it may be damaged
by dust and dirt.
i. Place clip on top and make sure it pierces the film
ii. Use the film squeegee to wipe off excess water
iii. hang your film towards the back of the cabinet.
iv. Use your empty film container as a clip for the
bottom of your film. This will keep your film from
curling or touching someone else’s film. If your
film dryes onto someone else’s film it will tear it.
iv. Close cabinet. The film cabinet must be kept
closed at all times in order to prevent dust from
building up.
v. Set cabinet fan to 40 minutes and 3 heat
L. After you have hung your film rinse off everything and place
all the components, completely disassembled, in
their appropriate bins to dry.
* If your containers are not cleaned out they
will be contaminated for the next user.
**Do not leave any parts in the sink. They will be
contaminated.
DONE now wait for 40 minutes.
Get temp, get time, D76 (1:1) dump, STOP (0:1) return, FIXER (0:1) test for time, return, HYPOCLEAR (4:1) dump,
H20 WASH 5min, PHOTOFLO (a few drops), squeegee, hang neg to dry, wash all components to decontaminate,
let dry disassembled in parts bins
Chems must always go in this order (dev, stop and fix) NEVER reverse the order!!!
