Nepal is undergoing a period of uncertainty, with a culture of impunity for crimes
against minorities, and no religious freedoms yet enshrined in law. A
new constitution is currently being drafted. Please pray that this will
guarantee full freedom of religion or beliefs for all.
PRAYER POINTERS
Please pray for:
† Our farmers and all who work on the land.
† The people of Syria, including the millions now living as refugees.
† World leaders and the UN, that the rivalries and selfish interests may be put aside
for the safety and well-being of our world.
† The young people’s Confirmation group meeting this week.
† Our preparations for Harvest and for the causes we will be supporting.
† The Ride & Stride on Saturday: for safety, fun and good fundraising.
† The Memorial Hall and its Trustees dealing with vital repair work and a big
refurbishment project in 2014.
† Continuing work on Bradwell Chapel (new windows soon!) and for the craft and
Christian training courses starting there.
Our Mission Focus in September is Alpha.
PRAYER WATCH
We give thanks for good news of Brian Howden and Brian Newsham who have
completed courses of treatment and pray for them and for Mike Sobotnicki and Ernie
Wood continuing treatment. We give thanks too for good news of Howard Dolling and
little Mirella Jackson doing well after operations, and pray for them and also for John
Francis and Peter Billingham in their convalescence. We pray for Marion Traynor
being cared for at home, for Elaine Gore awaiting an op. and for John Moore, Erica
Jeffrey, Gill Carey, Pam Watson, Wendy Hanson, Jackie Gillions, John Jowitt, Michael
Billington, Sheila Crome, Veronica Tunney, Alison Jenkins and all those known to us
whose names are on our continuing prayer list in the annexe.
We extend our sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of Ian Birch, Gerald Hill
and all those recently bereaved, and pray that they may know the consolation of God’s
love in their time of bereavement. Please also remember in prayer Patsy & Paul
Manning in their continuing sorrow.
Some church members will remember Gerald & Dorothy Hill and their family from the
time when they lived in Bradwell. Gerald died on 3rd September after a long illness and
a brief stay in hospital. Andy can supply a postal address for anyone who would like to

Listening Course at Bradwell Church led
by Jane Lane of Acorn Healing Trust. We
now have dates for this course:
 Sat. 26th October
 Sat. 9th November
This is a great opportunity to do an
excellent course; being a good listener is a
key skill for pastoral care and it’s a skill we
can learn. Please make a note of the dates
now! We hope that there will be a good
take-up and that this will also lay the
foundation for a pastoral care team for our
church. The cost is £36, but because we
see this as an important opportunity and we
want lots of people to be able to come, the
Church Council have decided to subsidise
2/3rds of the cost for Bradwell Church
members and ask people to contribute just
£12 each. More details will follow. Please
do contact Beryl Spikings on 321322 to
express interest.
Alpha “A great way to
explore the Christian faith”.
Our next course will run in
the autumn – starting Thurs.
10th October 7.00 pm. . If
you are interested in doing
the course or offering to
come as a helper, Andy would be
pleased to hear from you.
