For Shannon, it is a return home. She was born and raised in Crossville—nearly all of her family lives in Crossville! For me, it is moving to a place I have grown to love and appreciate since my first trip there in the summer of 2000. That first trip was an attempt to capture Shannon’s heart! It took several more trips...but I finally did it! She had captured mine from the moment I first met her. Shannon graduated from Cumberland County High School in 1999. She and I both attended Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville. She finished with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ministries during that time. We both graduated in 2008 and were appointed to the Cookeville First Church as Associate Pastor. I was ordained as an Elder in Full Connection in 2012. We have two boys. Gabriel just turned 13, and Cutler is 6 and will turn 7 at the end of July. Gabriel loves playing the guitar and also plays trumpet in band and plays more video games than most boys I know. Cutler is fun-loving and has a great sense of humor. It takes people some time to get to know him since he won’t talk to anyone whom he doesn’t know until he sees me, his dad, or his brother I am a recent graduate of talking to the person first. When I have spare time, I am a big NFL fan; my favorite team depends on the game and the season, but of course, every year I cheer for the Titans. I love to read and find solitude in nature.
