Shannon and I are so
excited to share life and
ministry with you in
Crossville! For Shannon,
it is a return home. She
was born and raised in
Crossville—nearly all of
her family lives in
Crossville! For me, it is
moving to a place I have
grown to love and
appreciate since my first
trip there in the summer
of 2000. That first trip
was an attempt to capture
Shannon’s heart! It took
several more trips...but I
finally did it! She had
captured mine from the
moment I first met her.
Shannon graduated from
Cumberland County High
School in 1999. She and
I both attended Tennessee
Technological University
in Cookeville. She
finished with a Bachelor
of Science degree in
Ministries during that
time. We both graduated
in 2008 and were
appointed to the
Cookeville First Church
as Associate Pastor. I
was ordained as an Elder
in Full Connection in
2012.

After that calling into
ministry, Shannon and I
were married (in
Crossville) in June of
2005. We moved to west
Tennessee that summer so
she could continue in
Optometry school, and I
could begin my seminary
education at the Memphis
Theological Seminary.

Associate Pastor - Sommer Worley
Hello everyone! My
family and I are excited to
be coming to Crossville at
the end of June. This will
be my first time in an
appointment, so you could
say I am a little green. I
look forward to getting to
know each of you and
being in ministry with
everyone at Crossville
First. I hope that my
family and I will be a part
of your church family for
years to come.
We have two boys.
Gabriel just turned 13, and
Cutler is 6 and will turn 7
at the end of July. Gabriel
loves playing the guitar
and also plays trumpet in
band and plays more video
games than most boys I
know. Cutler is
fun-loving and has a great
sense of humor. It takes
people some time to get to
know him since he won’t
talk to anyone whom he
doesn’t know until he sees

seminary education by the Kindle, and listening to
end of summer. I will also music. Cutler has a

In the past, I have worked
for the General Council on
Finance and
Administration for the
United Methodist Church
as a Data Management
Specialist. This means
that I did a lot of work
managing church-wide
appointment information
and church statistics. My
husband, John, works as a
satellite salesman and
installer for corporate,
commercial, and homes
doing Dish and Direct TV.
He is a “Jack of All

called me to attend
seminary, then to be a
candidate for ordination in
the United Methodist
Church, and now God is
placing me in Crossville.
Every day, I can see God
working in my life making
the way for me to be His
mouthpiece. I am glad to
be used by God. I have a
heart for God’s people,
making disciples for Jesus
Christ, and showing
everyone around me the
grace and love of God. I
want to reach out to the
community and be with
those in need.
When I have spare time, I
am a big NFL fan; my
favorite team depends on
the game and the season,
but of course, every year I
cheer for the Titans. I
love to read and find
solitude in nature. Having
time alone with just God
and me helps keep me
connected to God and His
will for my life.
Again, I am excited to be
gifted with the ability to
be in ministry with all at
