Instructions:
Print out ages 3-4 for each student. Alternative: Page 6 with pictures.
Instruct the students to go to the website ElCorteIngles.es
At the site, students should click on “Todos los Departamentos” and will be working under the
category of “Moda y accesorios”. They should be looking under the sections for “Mujer” or
“Joven Ella”, “Hombre” or “Joven Él” plus “zapatos” and “accesorios”.
Have students explore these categories to find the definitions of the vocabulary terms on page
3. Have students not use the search function, but rather use the left column to narrow down
each category. You can add/edit of the terms to include your school’s specific vocabulary. On
the following page, they are to purchase an outfit with a budget of 350 Euros. Some of the
items, they will not be able to find easily through navigation and will need to do a site search.
As they are reading through the descriptions, they should encounter the additional vocabulary
terms on page 4.

DIRECTIONS: You have 350! (Euros) to spend at Corte Inglés.
You must purchase at least one: top, pants, shoes, jacket. You may also purchase additional items
such as accessories if you have additional money leftover.
Click on the item to read description; choose size/color if applicable, then click to add them to
your basket (añadir a la cesta).

If you finish, explore the rest of the website and make a list of additional vocabulario you think is
important for a clothing unit.

If you wish to have your students add the items to their “online cart” on the website, they can
screenshot the purchase page and e-mail it to you.
This lesson takes approximately 40-55 minutes. At then end, or on the following day, I make sure to
go over the vocabulary with the students to make sure their pictures are correct. I also go over the
additional vocabulary with students and show them how they can narrow down a selection based on
certain criteria (precio, color, marca, talla).
