White Crochet Cotton, size 10
Ornament Hooks or 1/8" Red Ribbon

INSTRUCTIONS
Rnd 1: Ch 5, sl st together.

Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), dc in center hole, ch 1, *dc leaving 2 loops on hook, dc pulling through all 3 loops, ch 1*
Repeat 6 times (8 groups of 2 dc total), sl st in top of 1st dc, sl st in 1st ch 1 sp.
Rnd 3: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), dc in same space, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp (1st shell made), ch 2, *2 dc in next sp, ch 3, 2 dc
in same sp, ch 2*, Repeat 6 times (8 shells total). Sl st in top of 1st dc, sl st in ch 3 sp.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, triple picot, dc in same space, ch 2, sc in sp between shells, ch 2, *1 dc in shell center sp, triple picot, 1 dc,
ch 2, sc in sp between shells, ch 2* Repeat 6 times. (8 snowflake points made), sl st to beginning dc, end off. Weave loose
thread to hide.
FINISHING
1. Wash. Rinse well.
2. Saturate thoroughly with fabric starch. Lay flat to dry, blocking snowflake.
3. Attach ornament hook or red ribbon to hang.
4. Do not store in plastic bags; plastic may deteriorate the snowflake. Instead, wrap in acid-free paper and store in a fabric
pouch.
FINISHED SIZE: 3"
TO MAKE TRIPLE PICOT: ch 4, sl st in 4th ch from hook; ch 4, sl st in same loop; repeat once more; sl st to top of last dc.
