CS (Dr.) Shyam Agrawal a Fellow Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India
(ICSI) has been elected as the President of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India for the
year 2017 w.e.f. 19th January, 2017.

CS (Dr.) Shyam Agrawal, President, The ICSI
CS (Dr.) Shyam Agrawal has been elected as the President of the Institute of Company
Secretaries of India for the year 2017 w.e.f. 19th January, 2017. He is the youngest President
of the ICSI till date.
CS (Dr.) Shyam Agrawal is the Central Council Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries
of India, for the term 2015-2018. A Fellow Member of The Institute of Company Secretaries of
India, he obtained his Masters of Law (LL.M.) and Ph.D (Law) on the topic “Micro, Small and
Medium Enterprises- An analytical study of Law, Practice and Procedure”.
He was also the Chairman, Northern India Regional Council (NIRC) of the ICSI for the year
2014 and he was also the youngest Chairman of Jaipur Chapter of NIRC of ICSI for the year
2009 & 2010.
He is associated with various social, economic and other organisations like: Rajasthan Tax
Consultants' Association, Federation of Rajasthan Trade & Industry (FORTI), JCI International
(Worldwide Federation of Young Leaders and Entrepreneurs), Institute of Directors, New Delhi,
Lions Club Jaipur Professionals, etc. He was Member of Educational Advisory & other
Discussion Panel of leading newspapers viz., Dainik Bhaskar, Rajasthan Patrika.
CS (Dr.) Shyam Agrawal is a regular faculty for seminars, study circle and several training
programs of ICSI, a regular speaker at various Professional, Management & Educational bodies
on various topics of corporate relevance especially on MSME and Entrepreneurship and
participated in various Economic& Social Discussion, Workshops etc.
His dynamism is regularly reported in the Print & Electronic Media on the topics related to
social, professional, environmental, economy and other issues. He Initiated a Signature
Campaign on most desirable issue “Save Water, Respect Nature and Global Warming” and
initiated a Campaign on “Cast Your Vote”.
CS (Dr.) Shyam Agrawal has received accolades from many Social Organisations, Chambers of
Commerce and Industry and other Institutions for his distinguished contribution in the
development of Society, Profession, Youth, and Industry etc. He was also awarded the
prestigious “Emerging Leader of the year” 2016 award. He has served as the Vice- President of
the Institute of Company Secretaries of India for the year 2016.
CS Makarand Lele, Vice- President, ICSI
CS Makarand Lele is a Fellow Company Secretary (FCS) and a member of Institute of Company
Secretaries of India since 1992. He has completed his Commerce graduation (B.Com) from
Garware College of Commerce Pune and Law graduation (L.L.B) from ILS Law College Pune.
He holds the Certificate of Practice of ICSI since 1993.
His expertise is in providing total business solutions. He has been consulting to various Indian
and International businesses on compliances, governance, risk management, joint ventures,
policies, structuring and various critical matters in corporate laws over 2 decades.
He is actively associated with Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) since 1994. He
was a Chairman of the Pune Chapter for the year 2003, when chapter was conferred with the
award of ‘Best National Chapter’ in India.
He was a member of Western India Regional Council of ICSI for the terms from 2007-14. He
was the Chairman of Western Regional Council in the year 2011.
Currently, he is elected to the Central Council of ICSI for the term of 2015-2019 and is heading
financial & capital market committee and is a part of professional development, information
technology, CCGRT management, research, syllabus review. He is appointed as the first
Chairman of ICSI Auditing Standards Board.
He is a Core Group Member of Corporate Legislation sub-committee of Mahratta Chamber of
Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (MCCIA) and was invitee on the Business Law Syllabus
Review Committee of University of Pune.
He represented India in OECD 2015 Asian Round Table Conference on corporate governance at
Thailand.
He is a popular faculty for training programmes & seminars organized by ICSI & other
professional bodies. He is a guest faculty for regulatory and judicial training programmes of
government of India and private organizations. He has delivered more than 100 lectures and
presentations on various aspects of the Companies Act, FEMA & on topics like governance and
compliances.
He regularly contributes to professional and business journals & in local leading newspapers &
magazines. He writes blog on corporate laws & runs discussion forums for the benefit of
members & students on social media.
