Mosaic Coloring Contest Details
mo•sa•ic /mo za-ik/
(noun) a picture or pattern produced by arranging together
small colored pieces of hard material, such as stone,
tile, or glass.
It takes good vision and lots of concentration to color a mosaic
image. This is why Dr. Mangano and Eye Care Specialists are
presenting a coloring contest so you can show off your skill and creativity!

Participants~
The contest will be judged on three age levels: 6-7, 8-9, and 10-12. Each age
group will have a winner!
Submission~
Once you have colored your drawing, put your first name, last initial, and age
on the coloring page. Submit your colored drawing to Dr. Mangano’s office by
September 30th with the Registration and Artwork Release Form signed by
your parent or guardian.
Judging~
The panel of judges will include the Eye Care Specialists’ Administrator and Patient
and Professional Relations Director, and Kelly Hughes, professional artist, arts
educator, and owner of Open Window Studio. A winner for each age group will
be announced at the end of October.
Winners~
The winners of each age group will receive the following prizes:
★★ A Garrett’s of Chicago Popcorn Party for your homeroom class!!
★★ A “See” a Movie on Eye Care Specialists prize package (value of $75)
★★ A 16 x 20 Print of your colored mandala submission
★★ Your artwork and picture featured on the Mt. Auburn Rd. / William St. digital billboard,
on www.wespecialeyes.com, www.lasik4me.co and the Eye Care Specialists Facebook page at

Coloring Contest Entry Submission
Coloring Contest Details
Winners of the contest will be judged based on the coloring skill and creativity of the mandala drawing submitted.
No purchase is necessary. Participants do not need to be a patient of Eye Care Specialists 4Kids to enter. The contest will run
from August 1 to September 30. Children and grandchildren of Eye Care Specialists employees are not eligible.
Participant Eligibility
The contest is open to children 6-12 years old. Age groups will compete separately with one winner for each age group.

You may download an entry packet for the appropriate age group at www.wespecialeyes.com, www.lasik4me.co, or pick one
up at our Cape Girardeau office.
Entry Submission
Only one entry per child. Must be original artwork, no electronic submissions accepted.
Crayons, colored pencils, markers, gel pens, and chalk may be used. No added material (i.e. glitter, glue, or stickers) may be
included on the page.
Each entry must include a completed Registration and Artwork Release Form. Entries may be dropped off or mailed to:

Meet Our Judges
Kelly Hughes: Our feature judge has 13 years of practical teaching experience in the visual arts. Ms. Hughes graduated
with a degree in Fine Arts and Sciences from the state of New York. She has completed coursework in fine arts, biology, and
elementary education. She owns Open Window Studio, an art studio where she currently teaches summer workshops and offers
private lessons for students pre-school to adult. She will serve as the final judge.
Stephanie Kasten, CEO, VP: Mrs. Kasten is the administrator for Eye Care Specialists. She has been with the practice for over
23years and has a creative eye for detail and style. She will serve as a preliminary judge.
Kim Bader: Mrs. Bader is the Director of Patient and Professional Relations for Eye Care Specialists. She has a background in
graphic design and performs the marketing tasks for the practice. She will serve as a preliminary judge.
Announcing The Winners
All entries must be received by end of business (5:00 pm) on September 30. Parents will be notified by phone or email if
their child has won. Once parents for each age group have been contacted, the winners will be announced via FaceBook,
wespecialeyes.com, and lasik4me.co.
Each winner will receive a Garrett’s of Chicago Popcorn Party for his or her homeroom class (date to be determined by
student and teacher), a “See” a Movie on Eye Care Specialists gift basket, and a 16x20 print of the artwork submitted.
Winners artwork and picture will be featured in the Eye Care Specialists office, on the digital billboard at Mount Auburn
and William, on www.wespecialeyes.com and www.lasik4me.co, and the Eye Care Specialists FaceBook page at
www.facebook.com/wespecialeyes.
