Poster Artist: Artown selected Michelle Lassaline as the 2016 Poster artist. Her visual concept will represent the July 2016 Festival
and the non-profit’s twenty-first year. Reno is Artown is the entire month of July 2016! Every day of July there is art, theater, dance,
music, culture and much more. Hundreds of Reno’s organizations participate.

GREAT BASIN NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURAL FAIR
Experience the RSIC Native American Cultural with a crafts fair, artist demonstration and dance!



11a.m. Western Shoshone & Navajo Mouth Stick Painter, Mack Nez Johnson, will demonstrate
his mouth painting technique.
12:00 p.m. Ralph Thomas (RSIC Member) will share his silversmith techniques with a live
demonstration.
2:00 p.m. there will be a 30 minute live Native American Drum and Dance Exhibition. The
Young Chiefs and The Mankillers will be your 30 minute LIVE Host Drums!
CALLING ALL POW-WOW DANCERS:
Reno Artown is in its 21st year & this is the first year of the RSIC’s participation.
Let’s share our arts, dance, music, history and culture.
We are looking for pow-wow style dancers to participate in your regalia and share your
style of dancing: Traditional, Fancy, Grass and Tiny Tots! All ages!
All 2015-2016-2017 Native American Royalty please join, assist & represent your titles!
