Welcome
We would like to introduce you to our meeting and function facilities at the
Whitehorse Centre, Nunawading. We are a full-service, fully licensed, performing
arts and function venue operated by Whitehorse City Council.
The Whitehorse Centre is perfect for hosting a wide range of corporate, commercial
and community events, with the added benefit of free parking on our doorstep.
A variety of meeting options are available, including half-day sessions and full-day
catered conference packages for 25–160 guests. We offer a choice of room set-up
styles and an excellent selection of catering, ranging from morning teas to seated
dinners and corporate cocktail functions.
As a performing arts venue, we also offer the unique advantage of a 408 seat tiered
theatre as part of our facility. So, whether you are organising a conference, seminar,
product launch, AGM, training session or business meeting, the Whitehorse Centre
offers professional service with the personal touch from start to finish.

The Waratah Room
Our premier function space, the Waratah Room is
located within the Whitehorse Centre and is a highly
versatile room that lends itself to a variety of set-up
styles and uses. Suitable for conferences, seminars,
training meetings, cocktail parties and workshops, the
Waratah Room can also easily be divided into two
smaller meeting rooms.
Hire of the Waratah Room includes: room set to
your requirements, a function supervisor on duty
during your event and use of our standard audio-visual
equipment (projection screen, data projector, electronic
whiteboard, TV/VCR/DVD player, PA with in-ceiling
speaker system, CD player, audio tape player, lectern,
microphone, lapel microphone and hand-held radio
microphone).

The Theatre
The Whitehorse Centre theatre is a professional
performing arts space with extensive technical
facilities. Seating 408 people, the auditorium has
fixed theatre seating on a gentle gradient. This
versatile space can be used for presentations and
is perfect for high profile AGMs, seminars and
conferences.
Hire of the theatre is available on a stand-alone
basis, or in conjunction with other facilities within
the venue. Fully equipped for any presentation,
with a professional lighting rig, sound system,
ceiling mounted data projector and full-sized
cinema screen. The theatre is a unique venue and
is the perfect choice for your next
large-scale event.

Taking Care Of Business
The Willis Room
Located in the Civic Centre and with a separate
entrance for meetings after business hours, the Willis
Room is a medium-sized room that is suitable for a
variety of set-up styles and is perfect for workshops,
training sessions or seminars. The Willis Room
includes a small kitchenette suitable for serving light
refreshments.
Hire of the Willis Room includes: room set to
your requirements, a function supervisor to open
and close the room and use of our standard audiovisual equipment (fixed projection screen, standard
whiteboard, TV/VCR/DVD player, lectern and
microphone). Fixed data projector available for an
additional fee.

The Courtyard Room
The Courtyard Room is a self-contained meeting room
situated behind the Nunawading Library. Ideally suited
to small workshops, training sessions and meetings,
the Courtyard Room is pre-set in either theatre style for
50 or u-shape for 20. Clients may re-arrange the room
if required but must return it to its original set up at the
conclusion of their meeting.
The Courtyard Room includes a small kitchenette
suitable for preparing/serving light snacks and
refreshments.
Hire of the Courtyard Room includes: use of the
standard audio visual equipment (projection screen
and standard fixed whiteboard). Clients are to provide
their own whiteboard marker pens and eraser.
Courtyard Room hire does not include a function
supervisor.

Home to our resident ballet school most evenings,
during the day the Studio is an ideal space for meetings,
workshops or break-out sessions.
Hire of the Studio includes: room set to your

TV/VCR/DVD player, lectern and microphone).
