European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology
Lisbon – Portugal

WELCOME
SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME
Dear Colleagues,
The scientific programme of the meeting will consist of two major parts:
• Pre-congress courses on 14 June 2015
• Main programme on 15, 16 and 17 June 2015
ESHRE’s 2015 Annual Meeting will be held in Lisbon, Portugal for the first time.
The venue will be the International Exhibition Centre located in a part of the city renovated for the Expo 98 World
Exhibition. The Centre is situated by the Tagus river, and is within easy and rapid access by underground, bus
and train. Conveniently, the Centre is just 5 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from downtown by
underground.
We trust that the scientific programme will as ever be constructive, attractive and of high quality, and we assure
you that the meeting will be an important landmark in ESHRE’s continuing contribution to the improvement of
clinical, laboratory and scientific fields in reproduction. The ESHRE Annual Meeting in Lisbon will be a great
opportunity for physicians, clinical embryologists, psychologists, nurses, laboratory technicians, sociologists,
epidemiologists and scientists to revisit the most recent data and to meet in an informal atmosphere conducive
to initiating or strengthening long-lasting interactions.
Lisbon is a charming city, with historic traces of the Roman, Visigoth, Moorish, and Medieval and Romantic periods.
It was also the point of departure of the great voyages of discovery, from which the Portuguese explorers sailed
to establish the first direct European contacts with sub-Sahara Africa, South America and the Far East.
It is at the same time a modern, peaceful city full of attractions - with temperate climate, beautiful light, warm
hospitality, excellent gastronomy, imposing monuments, ‘bairros’ with distinct characteristics and the beautiful
neighbouring towns of Estoril, Cascais and Sintra (the summer residence of past kings and queens, which you
should try to visit). The months of June and July are particularly rich in cultural events, which take place in
many different parts of the city.
There are many other reasons for extending your visit either before of after the meeting, allowing you to discover
Lisbon and enjoy its unique atmosphere.
We cordially invite you to join us in Lisbon for the ESHRE 2015 meeting and what we believe will be a truly
memorable experience!
