POP UP RHOMBUS
There has been a substantial increase in the use of the word
"pop up": pop up stores, pop up restaurants, pop up cinema,
pop up radio. Now it’s time for Malmi to pop itself up, to renew
itself and re−emerge.
The proposal is simple structure that is pre−fabricated and
assembled in a modular fashion from a kit of parts that are able
to accommodate a variety of programs. In addition to fibre
cement elements, the system is able to accommodate lighting
modules. Incorporated lighting installations maximise the effect
of the undulating facade system.
By the train terminal the fibre cement cladding wallacts as an
acoustic element as well as a pleasant visual sight. By blocking
out noise and sight of constantly passing cars, it alone majorly
improves the athmosphere of the station area.
ARRIVAL BY CAR
Strucutal elements are left visible,
while hiding the frames of rhombuses.
