VIP – FOR GRADUATES
(Viadrina International Program - for Graduates)
The DAAD-funded program Viadrina International Program – for Graduates (VIP) provides grants
for editing foreign-language publications to doctoral researchers of all faculties at the European
University Viadrina.

articles and monographs
TARGET GROUP
Eligible for application are doctoral researchers of all faculties at the European
University Viadrina.
TYPE OF FUNDING
For any application in 2015, allowances of up to 500 € for proofreading/editing foreignlanguage articles and monographs can be granted. Funding can be given by no earlier
than mid-July 2015. Approved editing grants must be spent by no later than December
2015. At the time of application, the proofreading/editing of foreign-language articles
and monographs must not have been started
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
• Application form (Please see the application form on the VIP website!)
• Curriculum Vitae, with publications list if applicable
• Summary of the foreign-language article or foreign-language monograph (article
max. 3 pages / monograph max. 5 pages plus table of contents)
• Letter of motivation (max. 3 pages): Please describe to what extent the proofreading/editing of your foreign-language publication will benefit your personal career
development and your linking-up with the international scientific discourse.
• Written assessment by a supervisor of the European University Viadrina (Please see
the assessment form on the VIP website. In case of proofreading/editing of the PhD
thesis, please submit instead both assessments of the PhD thesis.)
• Cost estimation by an editorial office or detailed plan of expenses (Please note, that
already paid costs for editing and publishing can´t get reimbursed.)
• In case of proofreading/editing of a foreign-language monograph: approval by a
publisher
