WEAR YOUR RUNNING NUMBER BIB RIGHT
Now that you have collected your running number bib, please ensure you do not misplace it - we will not issue
you another one. In case you are part of a group participating at the Event, do make sure that you have the
number bib assigned to you by the Promoter. DO NOT EXCHANGE YOUR BIB WITH ANY OTHER PERSON OR
PARTICIPANT. The 'number' on your running bib has been synched to the data submitted by you in the Event's
application form, and is vital for all purposes on race day, including entry into the stadium for your run.
The colour of your bib indicates the race category (Great Delhi Run) you are participating in, and the distance
there of. You should start at the start time of your run category, i.e. 9:35 a.m.
Fill in your personal details: To assist the Promoter and the medical personnel of Max Healthcare (event's
medical partner),

ARE YOU READY TO PARTICIPATE IN ADHM?
SOME MEDICAL PRECAUTIONS
It's important that you do listen to your body and of course your doctor, before turning up at the start line on
20th November. Most medical emergencies during the race occur in people who push themselves on race
day or have not adequately trained or are unwell. If you feel feverish, or have been vomiting, have had severe
diarrhoea or chest pains or generally are feeling unwell, then it is unfair to you and your family to risk serious
illness and become a medical emergency.
Irrespective of whatever may be your age or for how long you may have trained, we sincerely advise you to
obtain a medical clearance from a registered medical practitioner/doctor allowing you to run in the event.
Please review the following questions before the Race Day:
•Has your doctor ever said that you have a heart condition and that you should only do physical activity
recommended by a doctor?
Yes
No
•Do you feel pain in your chest when you do physical activity?
Yes
No
•In the past month, have you had chest pain when you were not doing physical activity?

•Do you lose your balance because of dizziness or do you ever lose consciousness?

•Do you have a bone or joint problem that could be made worse by a change in your physical activity?
Yes
No
•Have you been suffering from any sort of virus or fever in the 2 weeks prior to race day?
Yes
No
•Is your doctor currently prescribing drugs for your blood pressure or heart condition?
Yes

•Do you have any difficulty in breathing, especially in cold and dry conditions?

If you have answered YES to any of the above questions, we strongly recommend that you seek advice from
your doctor before you run the race.
The Event promoter and sponsors/partners will not be responsible for any injury, of whatsoever nature, that
may be caused on race day or thereafter as a result of the event.

Race Day Judging
Great Delhi Run participants who wish to enter for the Jabong Run in Costume contest need to report at the
Jabong Run In Costume stage by 7:30 a.m. (refer to map on last page ).
ŸThe judging process will be from 8 a.m. to 9:05 a.m.
ŸLike all other participants, contestants in Jabong Run in Costume must be wearing their running number
bibs – the bib must be clearly visible on top of any costume worn.
ŸParticipants can take part only in ONE contest category.
ŸThere will be no ties –the decision of the judges is final and binding.
ŸAfter winners are declared, the participants will be guided to the holding area for start of the Great Delhi Run.
AFTER THE RUN
As you cross the Finish line, do not obscure your running number bib with your arms, the photographers will
find it difficult to identify you.
Once you cross the Finish line, please keep moving ahead towards the Nestlé Nutrition Zone. Do not wait or
stop near the finish area as you will come in the way of your fellow runners who would be crossing the finish
line.
The Finish is a secure area with no public access. You should arrange to meet your supporters at the
Participants' Family Zone (refer to map on last page for location).
NESTLÉ NUTRITION ZONE
A post event refreshment pack will be handed over to you at the Nestlé Nutrition Zone
beyond the finish line. You will need to show your running number bib to our volunteers
for them to handover the refreshment packet to you. A disposal bag will be given to you
along with the refreshment pack; please fill any peels/packaging/leftovers in this bag
and throw the bag in waste bins provided in the stadium premises. Our volunteers will be
able to clear the place easier and faster. This is part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan that
ADHM is supporting.
PARTICIPANTS' FAMILY ZONE
There is a separate zone identified for the family, friends and supporters of participants of the Great Delhi Run
which will be open between 5:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Entrance to the Participants' Family Zone is from Gate
no. 13, which is diagonally opp. MTNL Building, off Jawaharlal Nehru Marg. You can enjoy the live telecast at
this zone. Water and refreshments will be available at a charge. All supporters are liable to undergo checking
and frisking by security stationed at the gate. Your cooperation of all is solicited. Also for security reasons, all
supporters are requested to come without any baggage. The Promoter is not responsible for any loss of
baggage and its belongings. Please note non-participants of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2016 will not get
entry into the main stadium premises.
12
RACE DAY PHOTOS
Marathon-Photos.com is the official photographer of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon.
Your photographs will be captured at several locations on race route and at the finish.
You will be able to view and purchase your photos from the event website post 48 hours
after the race.
IMPORTANT TIPS
BEFORE
ŸDo read through the event information given here once again. Particularly take note of the sections on
medical conditions and your number bib.
Make
sure you pin the number bib on the outermost layer of clothing you wear on race day.
Ÿ
ŸDo get to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium with plenty of time to spare. Also be aware of location of all facilities.
ŸAlways listen out to any announcements from the event organizers. Some things may change on the day
and this is the only way they can communicate it to you.
Try
Ÿ and plan your visits to the toilets.
DURING
ŸNon-participants and participants without the valid bib will not be allowed entrance into the main stadium.
ŸDon't suddenly stop in the middle of the road. If you feel you need to tighten your shoelaces, or catch your
breath, move across to the side of the road first and take whatever action is needed.
ŸWater stations are often the place where most damage can be done. Don't suddenly veer across in front of
another runner to grab a bottle. Take your turn and remember that often the far end of the station will be
empty. Don't take more than you need.
ŸWhen you leave from a drink station, don't just drop the water bottle on the floor where it could be tripped on
by another runner. Remember you can retain your water bottle and refill it at the next water station. If you do
throw your used water bottle, do so in the dust bin provided or on to the footpath; our volunteers will be able
to clear off these bottles easier and faster.
AFTER
ŸWhen you reach the finish line, keep moving ahead. Medical aid and water is available post the finish line.
ŸDo not stand at the finish line to pose for pictures. Remember your fellow runners too need to cross the finish
line.
ŸDo reach out to the nearest volunteer at the finish in case you need any medical attention.
