DATES FOR THE DIARY - Folksworth Preschool

Welcome back and Happy New Year!!
We hope you all had a magical Christmas and wonderful New Year. We are so happy to see all your
smiley happy faces back at school and very happy to see some new smiley faces for this year. There
is lots of learning and fun to be had in 2017 and we here at Folksworth Pre-school can’t wait to get
started and this Newsletter will give you a little insight to some of the things coming up this half
term.
A Big Thank You
We would like to thank everyone who supported us at our Annual Christmas Santa Float Fundraising
event last year. The donations and support we received, whether from your front door or those that
came to the hall to join in the festivities was amazing. This fundraising event raised the preschool a
whopping £1335.40!!! We really couldn’t ask for more supportive parents, families and villagers and
thank you all so much for your donations. We hope you enjoyed the event just as much as we did
and we look forward to seeing you all for more events in the coming year.
Valentines Disco
We are holding a Valentines Disco at Folksworth Village Hall on Tuesday 14th
February 2pm – 4pm. All children are welcome. Please feel free to bring siblings
or family as this is an open event. Drinks and snacks will be available to
purchase for the children to enjoy in-between dances. Tickets are £2 entry with
additional child only £1 and Adults are free. We hope to see lots of you there
ready to dance the afternoon away
Uniform
Don’t forget that we now have our own preschool uniform. Uniform is not mandatory for pupils but
we do hope you will choose to purchase it for your children. Our uniform is
available for ordering through the Tesco’s website and will be delivered to
your door. If you have problems or queries regarding ordering uniform please
do not hesitate to speak to a member of the Pre-School staff who will be

Winter Weather
As winter seems to finally be with us may we ask you to please remember to provide suitable
clothing for the children as we will always try to get outside if the weather permits us. When
purchasing hats, gloves and boots please look for the easiest ones for your child to put on
independently.
Sharing Board
We have a sharing board at our Preschool for the children to
share pictures. We use this board to help with interaction
and for the children to share their stories with us and the
other children.
At Christmas the children thoroughly enjoyed sharing the
pictures of the fun they had with Edgar the Preschool Elf.
This term we are asking if parents could please bring in
photos of family, pets, holidays or special occasions to go on
our sharing board.
