Synonyms and antonyms
Practise using words that mean the same or are opposites

Synonyms are words that have the same, or a similar, meaning, e.g. fast/speedy/quick. Antonyms are
opposites, e.g. hot/cold; they can be made using prefixes e.g. sure/unsure. Synonyms and antonyms can be
used to avoid repeating the same word or phrase in a text.

Write an antonym for each of the words in bold:
I thought he was a brilliant leader.
Your behaviour is always good.
That girl is so lucky.
The man hurried down the road.
The weather is atrocious today.
