Desert Wells Stage Stop

The historic site was once a rest area and
watering stop for the horses used by the
Arizona Stage Company in the late 1800s
and early 1900s to haul food and supplies
to the miners and pioneers who settled the land.
Early settlers described it as a simple one-room
building about 10 foot square, constructed
of rock with a mud and thatched roof. This
small spur stop is treasured by the community
and holds a significant place in Queen Creek’s
history and folklore.
