ABWREC, GRAND PINEAPPLE AND SEARCH ANTIGUA COASTAL CLEAN UP
Saturday 19th was observed as International Coastal Clean-up Day. The Management and the Green
Team of the Grand Pineapple Beach Hotel, Management of Search Antigua Inc. collaborated with the
Antigua & Barbuda Waste Recycling Corporation (ABWREC) management, staff and their Recyclers in a
clean exercise of the Long Bay Beach.

Our most interesting discovery was a spiny fish which was trapped in a beer bottle. This was found by
Leslie Scholl the assistant manager of the Grand Pineapple Beach Hotel while snorkeling for garbage that
was dumped or ended up due to lack for proper disposal in the beach.
Other materials found included plastic bottles, aluminum cans, broken plastic chairs, stove, galvanize,
pieces of lumber, clothes, slippers, plastic food and beverage containers
