List of Additional Fees and Supplies 2016-2017
This listing of estimated fees and other optional expenses is presented as a service to parents for
planning purposes. Supplies for special projects (such as display boards) are not always listed.
Parents who chaperone trips maybe asked to pay their own admission fees. Occasionally, special
educational opportunities arise during the school year that may require an additional fee.
All fees listed below are estimates and may change based on current costs.

Seventh Group
$57 Supply pack (optional to purchase through Student Council)
$2,450 (approximately) for five day field trip to Washington D.C.*
$800 deposit due in August, $800 in November, and balance due in February. Souvenir money is optional

Science Fair: Project experimentation: $1 - $100 (depends on student selected experiment),
display board. Copies are sometimes desired by students presenting at the Regional and State
Fairs .
Regional Science Fair: cost of round trip transportation to Naperville and money for lunch and
extra activities.
State Science Fair: cost of round trip transportation to Southern Illinois University (Carbondale)
(325-375 miles), money for meals and optional overnight activities.
Science Olympiad (optional activity for Groups Seven and Eight) $10 - $12 for T-shirt, testing
supplies, money for transportation and food for regional competitions: money for transportation,
overnight stay and food for state competition, if needed.
Summer French Trip: $2,300 (optional)
Eighth Group
$60 Supply pack (optional to purchase through Student Council)
$2,000 (approximately) for a five day field trip to Quebec.* Includes two meals per day.
$750 due in August, $500 in November and balance in February. Additional money needed for 3 lunches.
Souvenir money is optional.

Immigration & Ethnic Fair - Table display items, display board ($10 - $100 depending on

Drama
No additional fees – students responsible for their own costumes and props if selected for variety
show as well as for scenes, films, and plays produced in drama classes.
Library
$20 fee for lost or damaged book
Math
Regional MATHCOUNTS – four team members travel to Regional competition at DeVry College at
their own expense.
State MATHCOUNTS – all team members’ expenses paid (hotel, food, transportation) by Salt
Creek Chapter of Illinois Society of Professional Engineers. Parents who attend pay their own
expenses.
Other Math Contests outside of school – entry fee paid by ACS. Additional expenses (travel,
food) are paid by parents.
Music
$16 Beginning Orchestra lesson books

$25 White Avery Coonley Polo Shirt (new members and returning if necessary)

Optional Activities, Intermediate and Advanced – Illinois Grade School Music Association (IGSMA)
Solo & Ensemble Competition. Soloists are required to provide piano accompanist. Fees vary.
Physical Education/Athletics
$5 Lock Replacement (if necessary)

Tuition Insurance
Billed as a percentage of tuition to cover costs in the event of student withdrawal, dismissal or

Financial Aid
Financial Aid for tuition costs is available to those with demonstrated need. Please contact the
Admissions Office for more information.
OTHER PROGRAMS AND SPECIAL EVENTS – all optional
After School Care - charged by the hour from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Billed by the Business Office.
Current hourly rate may be found in the Parent-Student Handbook. Children remaining after
6:00 pm will be charged late fees as detailed in the Parent-Student Handbook.
