Madison, WI – Supreme Court Justice Ann Walsh Bradley received high marks today
from Milwaukee’s legal community. In a survey conducted by the Milwaukee Bar
Association following their recent forum, the association’s members believed Justice
Bradley was nearly three times as qualified as her opponent in the race for Supreme
Court.
Qualifications were based on a number of factors, including judicial integrity, knowledge
of the law, service to the public, and effectiveness in working with other judges. Nearly
50% of the association’s members who expressed an opinion in the survey said her
challenger, Judge James Daley was “Not qualified.”
“I’m honored to have such strong support from members of the legal community,” said
Justice Bradley. “Like me, they understand the importance of a fair, impartial, and nonpartisan justice system. A justice system where everyone gets a fair shake.”
In addition to her widespread support from Wisconsin’s legal community, Justice
Bradley has earned the bi-partisan support of over 300 Sheriffs, Police Chiefs, District
Attorneys, and Judges from every corner of Wisconsin.
For the last two decades Justice Ann Walsh Bradley has served the people of
Wisconsin on the Supreme Court. She was first elected in 1995, becoming only the
third woman in the state’s history to win election to Wisconsin’s highest court. Prior to
serving on the Supreme Court, Justice Bradley was a Circuit Court Judge for ten years
in Marathon County.
Wisconsin Supreme Court Justices are elected in the non-partisan April elections for 10year terms. Election Day is April 7, 2015.
