On March 2, the team of shipbuilders

errors.
“Loading the FWD and AFT Diesels
was a model accomplishment for
Newport News Shipbuilding,” said
Gene Hunt, X88 Superintendent.
Back row (L to R): Robert Chappell Jr. (O68), Brad Whitley (O68), Giehl King (O68), Travis Hart (X43), Jason

“Teamwork and a forward-looking attitude was what made the difference in a

March is Women’s History Month
Shipbuilders reflect on Women’s
History Month.
“Women’s History Month is a time for
reflecting on the women of the past
and present who have courageously
stood for change and created a better
life for everyone. Notable examples
include Susan B. Anthony, Harriet
Tubman, Rosa Parks, Mother Teresa,
and Marie Curie.” Nancy Hill (E49)
“I enjoy working around women in the
yard. They bring a different point of
view, which is a good thing.”
Lonnie Massenburg (M53)
“I believe it is important to celebrate
Women’s History Month as a special
opportunity to highlight the efforts of
women nationwide and to recognize
their many contributions that have
impacted our families, communities
and environment.” Gale Baylor (E84)
