WEEK 1:

WEEK 2:
L.9-10.2: Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation and spelling and
writing. 1. Uses a semicolon (and perhaps a conjunctive adverb) to link two or more closely related independent
clauses. 2. Use a colon to introduce a list or quotation.
RL.9-10.2: Key Ideas and Details: Determine a theme or central idea of a text and analyze in detail its development over
the course of the text including how it emerges and is shaped and refined by specific details: provide and
objective summary of the text.

WEEK 3:

WEEK 5 and 6:
W. 9-10.1: Text Types and purposes: Write an argument to support claims in an analysis of substantive topics or texts,
using valid reasoning and relevant and sufficient evidence.
I can create an MLA formatted document.
I can write an argumentative claim that responds
to a prompt.
I can write an interpretation of textual evidence
in order to explain how my evidence proves my
claim
I can use transition words and phrases to move
from one topic to author throughout an essay.
I can structure an essay using an introductory
paragraph, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
