Summer Activities at the Campbellsport Public Library
This summer seemed to fly by probably because it was particularly
busy every day at the Library. In fact, in June and July people
borrowed more items from the library than in any month ever before.
Our summer reading programs were also once again a huge success.
We encouraged 230 school age children and 24 teens to keep learning
over the summer by offering incentives. They more the student read
the more likely they were to a earn or win a big prize.
Over a six week period we invited kids to come to the Library to
participate in 12 different programs that taught the children about a
variety of different cultures. These programs were educational and a
lot of fun. The advertised activities drew a total program attendance
of 546 children. Various area teachers helped us make some of these
programs a success. We would like to sincerely thank Mrs. Salm, Mrs.
Cochran, Mrs. West, Mrs. McCabe-Krudwig and Jackie Scharfenberg
for lending us their talent.
Our annual Family Fun Night took place on the evening of July 25th.
The beautiful weather and an evening full of activities attracted a
A Show & A Chat
crowd of over 130 people. The kids were invited to play in the
bouncy house (which was donated by Ben Franklin), have their face
professionally painted, visit with Winnie-the-Fox, and look in a police
car, a fire truck, and a race car. They could also create a few crafts
and color on the big boards. Families came for the brat fry and for the
magic show. It was a wonderful evening to spend some time with you
family, friends and neighbors. This event is held yearly. If you didn’t
come this year make it a point to attend next year’s celebration.
We would like to thank our local sponsors for helping us make
offering this yearly program a possibility; Ben Franklin True Value, HT
Enterprise, Dr. Ann Schlaefer, CC Cody’s, Smith and Hatch Insurance,
Agnesian Health Care, Wright Veterinary Service, Dr. Ronald Moos,
H & R Block, Campbellsport Building Supply, King Pin Lanes, Attorney
Tricia Walker, The Brewers, Pick-n-Save of Fond du Lac, YMCA of
Fond du Lac, The Building for Kids, Schreiner’s, Moondance Bed and
Breakfast, Spectrum Entertainment Center, Milwaukee Museum, and
the Milwaukee Bucks.

Proud to be an American
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11 the Campbellsport Public Library
will be collecting cards of thanks to send to area soldiers who are currently serving
overseas. We will also send books to the unit and hopefully a few movies if people are
willing to give a small donation towards our endeavor to send some good cheer.
Thank you cards for anyone to fill out and a donation jar will be
available at the circulation desk, August 29th through September 16th.
