Loveland Public Library Poetry Contest
Bike-U
Ever wanted to try your hand at writing a Haiku? Now is your
chance! We are asking library customers to write a “Bike” themed
Haiku, a Bike-U. Winner’s poems will be read on July 1 at our Type
Rider II event at Centennial Park in Loveland at 7:00 pm.
Contest Dates: June 2—June 20, 2014
Poem Requirements:
A. Please use the standard English Haiku Form:
1st Line: 5 syllables
2nd Line: 7 syllables
3rd Line: 5 syllables
B. Subject of poem must be bike or outdoor themed.
C. Please use one of the 5 senses in the body of your poem.
D. Only one entry per library customer.
Prizes & Winners:
Three winners will be selected, one from each age group: Children 4—10 yrs.; Teens 11—17 yrs.;
Adult—18 & up. Winning poems will be read on July 1, 2014 at our Type Rider II Event. Prizes
will be awarded to the winner of each age group.
