AAGIWA’s 2017 Annual Meeting will be held May 7‐10 on the Big Island of Hawaii. The Big Island is the heart of Hawaii’s breadbasket. They grow and process the bulk of the state’s agricultural products. The Annual Meeting will focus on and address important industry issues in grain inspection and will feature key industry professionals on the speaker program. The meeting will also explore the agriculture industry in Hawaii with group trips to the Greenwell Coffee Farm, to learn about the inspection and weighing process of Kona Coffee beans, and NELHA, the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority, home to the Hawaii Ocean Science Technology Park. The room will be open on Monday, May 8 from 6 ‐ 8 a.m. for set up. Packages can be shipped up to three days prior to the meeting. Tables are 6 foot by 30 inches; the ceiling height is 21’. The room is not secure, so please do not leave any equipment or valuable items in the room overnight. A preliminary diagram of the room set up is included. Specific table preferences are first come, first serve. The on‐site business center is the Sheraton Link which provides self‐service PC and printing. There are no shipping services. Pick up is available by both UPS and FedEx. AAGIWA • P.O. Box 26426 • Kansas City, MO 64196 [email protected] Vendor Presentation Each Associate Member in attendance at the Annual Meeting will have an opportunity for a 5‐minute promotional “what’s new” presentation. Please register for this opportunity on the vendor registration form. If you plan to utilize a power point presentation, you will need to send it by e‐mail by Friday, April 28. It is also recommended you bring a back‐up copy on a thumb drive. Raffle One of the big hits from past meetings is the raffle at the Annual Banquet. To encourage attendees to spend time viewing each table top display, exhibitor cards will again be provided. As individuals visit each table top display they will get their cards initialed. Once their card is complete with each vendor’s initials, they can turn it in to participate in a raffle drawing at the Annual Banquet on Tuesday evening, May 9. Packages may be delivered to the Sheraton Kona up to three days prior to the program
or direct to a designated function room. The Sheraton Kona should be contacted prior to
shipping items to confirm that the resort is able to accept the shipment as storage space
is limited. It is highly recommended that large shipments consisting of pallets of items
be contracted for an “inside delivery” where the freight company will deliver the
shipment direct to a designated function room. Please do not ship valuables as the
Sheraton Kona cannot be responsible for such items.
