I.E.M.A 2017 6TH ANNUAL STUDENT FILM FESTIVAL What is the I.E.M.A. Student Film Festival? The IEMA Student Film festival is an opportunity for high school, community college, and university students to present their films and/or videos to a wider audience. It’s a celebration of our local filmmakers. Who will see my film? All accepted films will be screened at the SBVC campus on Friday, May 19 starting at 7:00 p.m. In addition to being presented to a live audience, submissions may be aired on the RTVF student television station on the Internet. Who can submit a film? Any student enrolled in a high school, community college, university undergraduate or graduate program at the time of production may submit (Spring 2016 graduates are eligible). The person submitting the film must have had a major creative role in the production of the film/video, and a faculty member must approve the submission. The film does not have to have been produced as part of a class project. How do I know if my film is eligible? The film must have been written, produced, and directed by students enrolled in a high school, community college, university undergraduate or graduate program at the time of production may submit. The film must have been produced between January 2016 and April 2017. What is the submission process? 1. Mt. Vernon Ave San Bernardino, CA 92410 Who decides which films will be screened? First, your teacher/professor. Each submission MUST be pre-approved by a teacher or faculty member at your school. A film festival screening committee will determine which films will be screened at the showcase. Decisions will be determined based on the number of submissions and the quality of the submissions. What kind of films are acceptable? Films will be categorized by (a) school type [high school, community college/lower division, or university/upper division], or graduate school, (b) genre [news/reality/documentary, action/adventure, comedy/romantic comedy, crime/drama/film noir, family/children, science fiction/thriller/horror/fantasy, musical, animation, experimental, romance, native American/culture], and (c) the experience of the primary filmmaker [beginner/intermediate/advanced].
