Keeping our kids safe Last week on the way home, two of our smaller students who live in the Tyndall Road area crossed Wainui Road at the Rutene Wainui Road Intersection. We constantly remind our tamariki that if they need to cross Wainui Road that they do so at the school crossing. Could you remind your tamariki please? Luckily for us, the trucks and vehicles on the day stopped just in time. Little ones walking to school by themselves is probably a good idea either. Make sure that they are walking with their siblings or neighbouring tamariki if you are unable to walk with them. It is also timely to remind parents of our 5 year olds that school finishes at 2.30pm. If you are running late to pick up your child, please call us. Keeping our kids supervised and safe is our absolute priority. I'm an ex Kaiti school student and both my daughters are current students. My view on being on the BoT, is about enhancing student achievement to reach their full potential and making a positive difference to our children's learning. There have been many challenges that the BoT have faced, but the rewards have been significant such as 4-5 year ERO review, Bikes for School initiative, School Uniforms, New Classrooms and Fale Maama, just to name a few. I have enjoyed this journey that I have taken with my fellow BoT members, and thank them for all the knowledge, guidance and memories. I would be more then honoured to be re-elected onto the Kaiti school BoT for another three years. Malo Aupito, Thank you very much Turuhira Tamale Kaiti Sports is underway Thanks to the parents of the Kaiti Kids "My daughter Tamara is currently in the Tongan Bi-Lingual class here at Kaiti School. Also being of Samoan decent, I see myself as bringing some Pasifika 'flava' to the Kaiti School Board of Trustees mix. You may have seen me helping out with Tamara's class fundraising events, or as a parent driver for the Kaiti Swimming Academy. Recently I have been involved in some of the Whanau Ora activities here at Kaiti. I would now like to develop an understanding and appreciation with regards to the Governance of Kaiti School. As a parent representative of the BOT, I would like to offer my extensive life/work experiences and knowledge of working within communities from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds; with the view of continually striving to provide an optimum and harmonious learning environment for everyone here at Kaiti School - be you an akonga, kaiako, whanau or staff member.” Sepoima Tulia who are out there every Saturday morning having fun and trying their best for the team. The kids love it when whanau come to tautoko and support from the sideline. Thank you for being such a positive sideline supporter. This is what it’s all about.
