Dear Parents/Carers,
The Show Must Go On!
What is it about the weather in this country? This island we live on has always
experienced extremes of wind, rain, snow and heat waves, and yet whenever
we get a spell that is even slightly out of the ordinary, trains grind to a halt,
roads are closed, power lines fall and all sorts of disruption occurs. Not so at
the SPA however – we soldier on come rain, shine or hurricane. Actors have
the expression, “The show must go on.” We should adopt our own version here
at our wonderful Academy: “The curriculum must be delivered.”

Many parents have been asking for
samples of previous SATS papers
so you can support your child when
practising at home.
Please see below the link to a very
useful website whereby pupils can
practise a number of previous
SATS papers online for both
English and Mathematics. Here
you will also have access to the
answers (mark scheme) so that you
can help your child to check and
discuss questions as they answer
them.
Also available on the website is the
option to download sample papers
if you prefer.

Thank you
To FoSPA for the donation of £600
which enabled us to buy new books for
our library. These have now all been
added to our library stock.
Look out for the „Donated by FoSPA‟
sticker in the front of the books!
Donations of good quality books are
always welcome.
British Values
Mutual respect: This week, Mrs Weldon has run
enrichment activities focussing on debating
ideas. The children have to respect each others
viewpoints and model good manners, as well as
using their best literacy skills to share their
arguments in a persuasive manner. They have
debated whether “Animals should or should not be
kept in captivity” and “should TV be banned for
under 12 year olds?”.

Anti-Bullying Drop in for Parents
Every Thursday 3.45-4.30pm
NOT SURE HOW TO HELP YOUR CHILD DEAL WITH A
BULLYING ISSUE?
The session is an opportunity for you to come in to the Academy
without an appointment to discuss anything related to bullying with
the anti-bullying team, in an informal setting.
We aim to build on the work we do with our students by helping
parents support their child in dealing with bullying. Other
appointments are available on request.

Please remember to use the school
postcode, SG19 1JD, when ordering as we
earn commission on every sale over £10. This
will enable us to buy new books for our library.
