What is Futsal?
Futsal is the only "Official form of Indoor Soccer" as approved by the
Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). It earned the status of
FIFA’s official form of indoor soccer in the 1980s as it was recognized as a scaled
down version of outdoor soccer played indoors. It is a 5 v 5 small-sided game
played on a hard surfaced, basketball sized court with a smaller, heavier low
bounce ball. Futsal is played with touchline boundaries and without walls.
This is the game that outdoor soccer players around the globe play to refine and
maintain their control skills and touch. It is superior to walled soccer in terms of
developing better skills and technique. In traditional American walled soccer, 2
players regularly whack the ball (and sometimes their bodies) against the boards
which promotes improper technique and too often rewards errant play. In futsal,
players are constantly reminded to play the same quality control game that is
required for success in the outdoor game.
Futsal is played in all the continents of the world by over 100 countries with 60
million players. Futsal is played on a gymnasium hard-wood floor or all-purpose
sports flooring. The game does not require the use of expensive dasher boards,
as do other versions of indoor soccer, therefore making it a very economical and
safe sport.
The sport is a great skill developer as it demands quick reflexes, fast thinking,
precision passing. The small, low bounce futsal ball requires players to hone their
ball-striking and ball handling technique. Great soccer superstars such as Pele,
Zico, Ronaldo, Messi, Kaka, Neymar, Marta and Katia grew up playing the game
and credit futsal with developing their skills.

Canfield Futsal Club focuses on educating players and coaches while maintaining
a positive environment. The club promotes sportsmanship, respect, and hard
work while teaching the technical, tactical, physical and psychological
components of the game.
Creating a positive club culture is as important to us as creating a highly skilled
and competitive player. In order to stay true to our vision, the club has placed

DREW DUCKER "Ducks" is currently on the United States
Youth Futsal Great Lakes Regional Team coaching staff. He has
coached for 13 years and currently holds his USSF "A" license,
Futsal National Level 3 coaching Certificate, US Youth Soccer
National Youth License, and NSCAA Premier Diploma. Drew’s
professional soccer experience makes him a phenomenal
personal trainer for individuals and small groups of all ages.
Ducks is a founding member of Michigan Futsal Factory and works with East Michigan Futsal
to expand the league and organize camps, clinics, coaching seminars, and tournaments.

Michigan Futsal Factory was officially founded in 2014 but the
foundation of the program was constructed long ago. Futsal
Factory was created by coaches and players that have a true
passion and love for the game. We are an elite training
company that focuses on Futsal training and how to implement
the benefits of Futsal to every player’s outdoor game. We focus
on all parts of the game (technical, tactical, physical, and
psychological) and provide an environment in which players can
be challenged but also find success. It’s a fast pace, high
intensity, and exciting atmosphere to train in.
Our regional league affiliation
East Michigan Futsal, an affiliate of US Youth Futsal, is the first
US Soccer sanctioned futsal league in Michigan. Since its
beginning in 2009, EMF has grown each year from 16 teams to
over 370 teams and counting, including adults!
East Michigan Futsal’s Leagues feature teams in age groups and
gender ranging from U8 through Adults Over 48. Highquality officiating, fair and balanced competition, superior
facilities and outstanding service has kept coaches, players and
parents returning to play year after year. In addition, teams,
coaches and parents have enjoyed their East Michigan Futsal
experience immensely, and have enjoyed seeing measurable
improvements in players’ and teams’ outdoor games. Therefore
league participants continue to spread the word, and share the
excitement!!!

Our national sanctioning body
UNITED STATES YOUTH FUTSAL is the only national futsal
organization affiliated with US Soccer. With over 40 leagues
throughout the country, 5 Regional tournaments and a National
Championship, it is the fastest growing futsal organization in
the U.S.
Our Affiliations:
US SOCCER is the governing body of all soccer in the United
States. Its mission is to make soccer, in all its forms, a
preeminent sport in the United States and to continue the
development of soccer at all recreational and competitive
levels.
USSSA is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop
and expand the game of soccer in the United States. USSSA has
been an affiliate of US Soccer since July, 2001. USSSA registers,
sanction and provides insurance for leagues, clubs, academies
and players.
