Holy Week. Each morning a nominated grade will focus on a significant event in the
Easter story, concluding with Good Friday. Liturgies are scheduled for 9.15am in the hall.

ATTITUDE REPORTS: Home to Parents on Wednesday 5th April
EASTER HAT PARADE will be held for students in K-2 on the afternoon of Monday 24th April
under the COLA at 2.15pm. This will give the children a holiday project
and better fit the religious calendar, coinciding with the excitement of
the resurrection of Jesus.
ANZAC SERVICE
All students of St Patrick’s are invited to attend the local Anzac Day
Service to be held at the Lochinvar Community Hall, adjacent to the
Memorial Gates, Lochinvar on Tuesday 25th April. The community
event starts at 11.15am. All students from St Patrick’s are welcome to
attend to show respect for the fallen and gain a better
understanding of what this special day means.
Full winter uniform is to be worn.
Our school Leaders will be involved by laying a wreath and reading
short reflections on what the ANZAC Spirit means to them.
We will also commemorate Anzac Day at school on Wednesday 26th April at 9.15 in the
school hall. You are most welcome to attend.
MOBILE PHONES
The widespread ownership of mobile phones (and
similar devices such as tablets and iPods) among
students, requires that the school and parents
take steps to ensure that such mobile devices are
used responsibly to ensure student safety and to
avoid any disruption to our learning environment.
As a general rule mobile phones are not to be brought to school by students. In special
circumstances (with Principal’s permission) a student may have a mobile phone for use
after school under the following conditions;



It needs to be kept safe in the office during the school day
It is not to be accessed by students for personal use
Risk of damage or loss is realised by the parents
The procedure is as follows:
Students will deliver the phone to the office for safe keeping and take responsibility for
collecting it again in the afternoon.
NB- Ipods and other devices are not to be brought to school unless specific permission is
provided by the class teacher for educational purposes.
CONGRATULATIONS
Over the past few weeks, St Patrick’s have
had a number of students proudly compete in representative sporting trials. It is always
pleasing to see students doing their very best and being fine advocates for their school.
The following students have successfully progressed to the next level and will compete in
the Polding Competition for the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.

Abrahm Russell- AFL



Jackson Grant- Rugby League
Flynn Mitchell- Rugby League
Claire Adams- Football (Soccer)
I take this opportunity also to recognise the achievements of Olivia Halliday from Year 6
who has been selected to ride for the Australian Junior Rodeo team in America in June at
the International Youth Rodeo Association. She will compete in Gonzales, Texas USA.
Without doubt, competing at this level at such a young age is a major achievement for
Olivia. I look forward to hearing updates of Olivia's progress.

WINTER UNIFORM
Reminder: The changeover to winter uniform takes place at the
beginning of Term 2.
As is often the case, we can be blessed with unseasonably warm

children to be in full Winter Uniform at the beginning of Week 4 (15th May). Uniforms can
be purchased from Ken Lane Menswear in Maitland Mall.

I take this opportunity to wish you all a restful, safe and Holy Easter. This
has been a particularly busy term with many wonderful opportunities for
our school community to come together to celebrate learning.
May you experience the wonder of the season and the risen Lord fill your heart with
compassion, hope and love.
