Sub: EXHIBITION OF TEXTILE & HANDICRAFTS during FESTIVAL OF INDIA
in MOROCCO to be held from 27th July to 07th August 2016.
Sir / Madam,
The Embassy of India in Rabat, Morocco is holding a “Festival of India” in Morocco and has invited
the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts to organize an Exhibition of Indian Handicrafts & Textiles
during the Festival of India. The Festival of India will be held in Casablanca, the biggest city in Morocco
from 27th July to 01st August 2016 and from 04th to 07th August 2016 in a second city in Morocco which
will be informed in due course.
As informed by the esteemed Embassy of India, there is a very good demand for Indian Textiles
and Home Furnishings. There is demand for Indian embroidery, Chickenkari and Zari work which is used
extensively in manufacture and design of traditional Moroccan dresses and textiles. Indian Jewellery,
Fashion Accessories, Garments, Handicrafts & Home Furnishings are also quite popular in Morocco.
Members may note, the Festival of India is an ideal platform to promote Indian merchandise and
have given impetus to the Council’s efforts of promoting exports of handicrafts, gifts, textiles and allied
products to the new and less explored markets especially in Africa and Latin America. The participation
of the Council’s members in the Festival of India in Morocco is being organized under a Special Promotion
Programme of the Government of India for the promotion of Indian Handicrafts.
The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts is inviting Expression of Interest from the member
exporters for participation in the above Festival of India. The cost of participation will be subsidized and
a built-up booth of 9 sq. mt. with name fascia, limited display aids & furniture shall be provided. Members
may submit their EOI’s along with a deposit of Rs. 20,000/- only. The deposit shall include an amount of
Rs. 15,000/- which will be refundable after successful participation.
The participants will be required to make their own arrangements for shipment of their goods
from India and custom clearance and release of goods in Morocco. All duties and taxes for importing
goods in Morocco will be paid by the participant. In addition to the above, exhibitors will be required to
make their own arrangements for their air-tickets, local travel and accommodation in both the cities
where the exhibition is being held. As the above event is being organized with financial support from the
office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, members
shall not be eligible for any MDA grant. Interested members may forward their Expression of Interest as
per enclosed format latest by 17th June 2016.
The Council reserves the right to select the participants. Further, submission of EOI does not mean

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
EXHIBITION OF TEXTILES & HANDICRAFS during FESTIVAL OF INDIA in MOROCCO
to be held from 27 July ~ 07 August 2016
1. Space Booking:
Application on the prescribed format for participation in overseas activities of the Council to be
submitted within the prescribed date for booking of space. Subletting of booth is strictly prohibited.
2. Allotment of space to the Participants:
The Council reserves the right to select the participants. Submission of application for booking of space
does not amount to confirmation of participation.
3. Withdrawal & Refund of Participation Fee:
No refund will be considered once the participation has been confirmed by the Council. Members may
please note withdrawal after selection will not be allowed. If withdrawn, the amount deposited by the
applicants towards their participation shall be forfeited.
4. Visa:
i) The Council will provide necessary assistance by way of issuance of recommendation letter to the
concerned Mission for obtaining visas. Visa recommendation letter will be issued only in favour of
the Chief Executive / Director / Proprietor/Senior Officer of the company.
ii) The approval of participation does not confer any right for grant of visa. No claim for refund of
participation charges would be entertained on account of denial/delay of visa
iii) Since spaced booked on behalf of the participating company, therefore, Council has already
committed for certain financial bindings by way of booking of space, construction/decoration of
stand, catalogue entry, general publicity support etc., therefore, it will not be possible to consider any
refund request on account of denial of visa/delay in grant of visa.
5. General:
(i) Only goods of Indian origin will be allowed for display at India Pavilion.
(ii) The spaced allotted to the approved participants is to be exclusively used by them for display of their
exhibits. Subletting of space is not permissible. Violation of this clause and the code of conduct of the
exhibitor may lead to cancellation of space allotted, forfeiture of space rent and debarring the member
exporter from the future participations.
