Photosynthesis is the
process plants use to make
food for itself.
For photosynthesis to
occur, three ingredients
are needed.

Carbon dioxide

Water
The carbon dioxide enters the cells through the stomata,
which are pores (holes) on the bottom of the leaf.

The process of photosynthesis takes place in the
chloroplasts of the plant cells.

The result of photosynthesis is glucose and oxygen. The
plant uses the glucose as food and releases the oxygen as a
waste product.

Cellular respiration is the opposite of photosynthesis. It is
the process of breaking down food and turning it into
energy.

Cellular respiration equation
Saturday, October 12, 13
Photosynthesis and cellular respiration are a cycle.
Photosynthesis is the process of making food and cellular
respiration is the process of breaking down that food to
get energy to survive.
