Audition Information
Audition Dates
Current High School Students (will take place at BHS):
May 19, 20 – 3:00-6:00pm
Current 8th Grade Students (will take place at RMS):
May 21, 22 – 3:00-5:00pm
Sign-up sheets for auditions will be posted in the orchestra rooms at BHS and RMS.
Final lists for Chamber Orchestra and DC Festival Orchestra will be posted on Friday, May
23rd.
Required Music for Audition
Prepare the following music if you are auditioning for Chamber Orchestra:
Scales
C, G, D, A, F, Bb Major and D, G Minor
o Minimum Tempo: Quarter Note = 120 bpm
o 3 Octaves for Violin/Viola/Cello, 2 Octaves for Bass
Prepared Solo
ONE minute of an appropriate solo for the Chamber Orchestra level
Sight-Reading
Will be provided at the time of the audition
