NEW 1st SOURCE DEBIT AND ATM CARDS
My new card looks different. What changed?
The look of your card has evolved. The 1st Source Resource® ATM and Resource® Plus debit cards are now “flat.” All
account information, including cardholder name, account number and the expiration date are now printed on the card,
rather than embossed with raised letters and numbers. The MasterCard® hologram is on the back of the card.
Why did you change the cards?
We wanted to get cards in the hands of our clients quickly. Producing the card with this new method allows us to get the
cards into our clients’ hands faster than ever before, most often within three business days.
Will the card work?
Your new card works the same way as a card that has raised letters and numbers. Merchant transactions today are most
often carried out by swiping the magnetic strip on the card through a card reader to process your transaction. All the
information needed is contained in the strip.
Is the card secure?
The card has the same security features as an embossed card. It is safe, secure and ready to use.
Will a merchant accept this card?
Yes. Merchants in the U.S. accept the non-embossed cards. They use the information in the magnetic strip to process
your transaction.
Where and how can the Resource Plus debit card be used?
Use your Resource Plus card instead of cash or checks at millions of locations worldwide, including the movie theater,
hardware store, or a restaurant. It’s also good for your everyday purchases including dry cleaning, prescriptions, stamps
and more. It’s convenient!
