Company Profile
FROM Iceland was established in 2006 by Úlfar Antonsson,
the former director of Iceland Travel. Úlfar had by then built
the incoming department of Iceland Travel from being a small
department with few employees to one of the biggest incoming
tour operators in Iceland.
With FROM Iceland, Úlfar's goal was to shorten the distribution channels and making Iceland more competitive in the
global tourism market. Now, six years later, FROM Iceland
serviced more than 2000 group travelers in 2011 and is expecting up to 130 groups in 2012.
Our philosophy is still the same, offering competitive prices
and personal services. We work closely with suppliers around
Iceland because we believe that a good relationship with our
suppliers will benefit our customers. Our goal is to make our
tour operator partners and Iceland more competitive.

The Iceland Circle

This complete tour of Iceland
takes you to most of the country´s highlights. Enjoy the pure
air while exploring Iceland, a
country that offers abundance
of interesting natural phenomena such as geysers and volcanoes, glaciers and
waterfalls, geothermal areas,
and sulphuric mud pools.
Day 1
Arrival in Iceland
Pick-up of car at Keflavík Airport
or travel by Flybus to Reykjavík
and pick-up the car the next day.
Transfer to Reykjavík, to hotel.
Optional: Visit to the Blue Lagoon.
Day 2
Þingvellir – Borgarfjörður –
Akureyri
First stop will be in Þingvellir National Park, the great lava area in
a rift valley, where the Icelandic
Parliament met for centuries from
930 AD until 1798. Þingvellir is
the place where two of the earth’s
tectonic plates meet. Onwards
through the Kaldidalur pass (alt.
727 m) and past Langjökull glacier down to the lowlands of Borgarfjörður, a site of the old Sagas.
Stop at the waterfalls Hraunfossar
(Lavafalls) and Barnafossar be-
fore continuing to the north. You
pass the Skagafjörður district, famous for its horse breeding. Dinner and overnight in Akureyri.
Optional: Visit of Glaumbær Folk
museum.
Day 3
Akureyri – Lake Mývatn
Monring visit of the botanical garden in Akureyri before driving
eastwards to Lake Mývatn. On the
way a stop at the scenic
Goðafoss waterfall, where legend
says that the ancient Nordic gods
Óðinn and Þór still watch over the
country's well being. Lake Mývatn
is a famous bird sanctuary, boasting one of the largest concentration of breeding ducks in the
world, as well as hundreds of
whopper swans. The magnificent
landscape has many astonishing
geological and volcanic features.
You can alsol visit pseudocraters, solfataras with boiling sulphuric mud-pools, a lava-labyrinth
where strange lava formations
provide shelter for an unexpectedly rich amount of vegetation,
and Grjótagjá, a fissure that once
was the public bathing choice of
the area. Overnight in the lake
Mývatn area or in Akureyri.
Day 4
Mývatn – Dettifoss –
Egilsstaðir
Drive along the Tjörnes peninsula
to the Jökulsárgljúfur National
Park where glacial floods and volcanic eruptions have created a
unique landscape. Discover the
magnificent basaltic formations of
Hljóðaklettar – “Echo rocks” and
the thundering glacial river of
Jökulsá á Fjöllum. Next stop is at
Dettifoss, Europe’s mightiest waterfall, before continuing eastward
over the barren and now unpopulated Jökuldalsheiði plateau and
into the fertile Fljótsdalur district.
Dinner and overnight in
Egilsstaðir area.
Day 5
Egilsstaðir – East Fjords –
Höfn
Morning departure along the
rugged and varied coastline of the
East Fjords, some now deserted
and each a world of its own. We’ll
drive along Fáskrúðsfjörður,
which was for centuries the main
port of French fishermen in Iceland. In Stöðvarfjörður you can
delight in the spectacular collection of Icelandic rocks and minerals at Petra’s museum of
minerals. In Álftarfjörður you may
see thousands of whopper swans
in their season, before leaving the
East Fjords behind and arriving in
the Höfn area for an overnight
stay.
Day 6
Höfn – Kirkjubæjarklaustur –
Vík
You have the magnificent Vatna-

jökull glacier, the largest in Europe as backdrop today as you
explore the wonders of the southeast. You pass several outlet glaciers on your way to Jökulsárlón
Glacier Lagoon where huge icebergs, broken off the ever-shifting
mass of Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, float and grind together in the
lagoon. After a boat tour on the lagoon (about 30-40 minutes) continue to Skaftafell National Park, a
beautiful green oasis beneath
towering Öræfajökull, the highest
peak in Iceland. Following a visit
to the park you drive across
Skeiðarársandur with its vast
stretches of black sand formed by
mighty glacial rivers. Then you
cross the enormous Eldhraun
lava field and the black desert
sands of Mýrdalssandur before
arriving in Vík, the southernmost
village of Iceland.
Day 7
Vík – Gullfoss and Geysir –
Reykjavík
To the beautiful black beach at
Reynishverfi and the promontory
Dyrhólaey, a nature reserve
(closed during the nesting period
from May1st until June 25th).
Dyrhólaey is home to thousands
of seabirds which nest in its every
crevice. We stop at the impressive waterfall Skógafoss with
Mýrdalsjökull glacier towering
above. Then we continue to Seljalandsfoss before driving inland to
Gullfoss, a misty, often rainbowed
waterfall and then to the Geyser
area with many hot springs, mud
pools and geysers, of which
Strokkur, the world's most active,
is likely to spout several times to
heights of 100 feet. On to Reykjavík in the late afternoon.
Day 8
Departure
Transfer to Keflavík Airport either
by Fly-Bus or by car. Drop off car
(or do it the day before in Reykjavík).

Day 1
Arrival transfer
Professional driver-guide will pick
up the passengers at Keflavik International Airport. Transfer to
Reykjavík, with a short orientation
of the capital en route. Check-in
at Hotel.
Day 2
Reykjavík - Borgarfjörður
Departure from Reykjavik to Borgarfjörður valley, via Thingvellir
National Park and Kaldidalur
mountain road. Stop in Húsafell
natural gem, Hraunfossar waterfalls, Deildartunguhver hot spring
and Borgarnes. Lunch in
Húsafell. From Húsafell travel via
the valley of Skorradalur over to
Hvalfjörður Bay to Hotel Glymur,
for overnight stay.
Day 3
Snæfellsnes peninsula
From Hotel Glymur travel towards
Snæfellsnes peninsula. First, a
drive to the northern side of the
peninsula, stopping in Stykkishólmur and then onwards to
Bjarnarhöfn shark farm, for a visit.
Thereafter, the journey continues
in Snæfellsnes national Park, with
stops at Þúfubjarg and Lóndrangar, and the sandy beach at Dúpalónssandur. Stop in Hellnar
with a visit of the small café, and
proceed either by foot or by car to
the tiny fishing village of
Arnarstapi. Overnight stay in
Hotel Búðir.
Day 4
Búðir - Akureyri
Drive from Búðir towards
Akureyri, stopping enr route in
Gauksmýri horse farm, for lunch.
Continue towards Akureyri, via
Tröllaskagi peninsula with
Sauðárkrókur, Siglufjörður, Ólafsfjörður and Dalvík. Overnight stay
in Akureyri.
Day 5
Akureyri - Húsavík - Lake
Mývatn - Akureyri
Morning drive to Húsavík for a
whale-watching tour at 10:00.
After the tour, lunch in Gamli
Baukur, Husavik, followed by a
visit of the whale-museum. In the
afternoon, drive to Lake Myvatn,
where Namaskarð mud pools,
Dimmuborgir Lava castles and
Skutustaðir pseudo craters, the
outstanding bird museum and Myvatn´s Nature Baths. Return in the
afternoon to Akureyri for overnight
stay.
Day 6
Flight - Akureyri - Reykjavík Golden Circle
08:25.Morning flight from Akureyri
to Reykjavík. The flight takes approximately 45 minutes. Drive to
Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall,
and Geyser geothermal area.
Lunch at Gullfoss Café. River rafting in the river Hvítá at 14:00. In
the afternoon travel to Hotel
Rangá, for overnight stay.
Day 7
Rangá - South Shore
From Hotel Rangá we travel to
Mýrdalsjökull glacier, for a one
hour snow scooter ride on the glacier. We then travel to Vík for a
visit of Dyrhólaey and the surrounding area. Lunch in Vík. Return in the afternoon to Hotel
Rangá with a stop at Skogar museum and Skógar waterfall and
then we continue to Seljalandsfoss Arrival in afternoon at Rangá,
for relaxation in the hot tubs, and
overnight stay.

Day 8
Rangá - EyrarbakkiStokkseyri - Reykjanes
peninsula - Reykjavík
From Rangá travel towards the
coast of the Atlantic Ocean and
visit villages such as Eyrarbakki
and Stokkseyri. Lunch at the Lobster restaurant „Vid Fjöruborðið“.
From there travel along the Reykjanes peninsula towards lake Kleifarvatn, with stop at
Krýsuvíkurberg, a home to thousands of birds birds and visit the
the bridge between continents,
where the Eurasian and American
tectonic plates are drifting apart.
A small footbridge named Leif the
Lucky has been built over a fissure connecting the two plates.
One can cross from America to
Europe and get a certificate at the
Reykjanes. They end the tour in
the Blue Lagoon nature bath, for a
refreshing swim. Return in the afternoon in Reykjavík Grand Hotel.

Iceland Adventure
Need to get a way and
recharge the batteries? What
better way than some full
blown adventure in the breathtaking nature of Iceland? This
tour can be organized as a
self-drive tour or as a guided
tour with a professional driverguide.
Day 1
Arrival with Blue Lagoon
Pick-up of car at Keflavík Airport.
En route to your hotel in South
Iceland, a stop at the Blue Lagoon, a natural wonder where one
can bathe and swim. There are
two steam baths available, a cozy
sauna, outdoor showers and a
waterfall providing an excellent
shoulder and neck massage.
Drive to the South of Iceland for
dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2
Ice-walking and ice-hiking
Morning drive to Sólheimajökull
glacier for an ice walk, ice-climbing or both. All necessary equipment is provided, such as ice
axes, crampons and safety lines.
Experienced mountain guides escort the group. The group passes
crevasses, ice walls and tries ice
climbing. The total duration is either 1, 5 hours (ice walk) or 3
hours (walk and climbing) on the
ice. After the walk, refreshments
are served. Then visit the beautiful waterfalls Skogar and Seljalandsfoss and the Skogar folk
museum. Continue to Dyrhоlaey,
the southernmost part of Iceland.
The Dyrholaey rock is about 120
meters high with an arch-shaped
opening through it protruding into
the sea. Then onwards to the village of Vík, famous for its scenic
surroundings. Return to your
hotel, stopping en route at an outdoor swimming pool for relaxation
in the hot tubs. Dinner and
overnight stay in South Iceland.
Day 3
The Golden Circle with rafting
Travel to Geysir geothermal hot
spring area, where geysers spout
hot water into the air every 15-25
minutes, and numerous smaller
geysers and hot pools can be
found. Continue to Gullfoss, the
golden waterfall and to Drumboddsstaðir, for an exciting rafting tour on the
river Hvítá that starts at
14:00. This rafting trip has
been one of Iceland´s
most popular adventure
activity, with a perfectly
balanced mix of serene
canyons and adrenaline
pumping waves and
rapids. Continue back to
Reykjavík via Thingvellir
National Park in the late
afternoon. Overnight stay in
Reykjavík.
Drop-off of car in Reykjavík.
Day 4
Horse-riding and whalewatching
In the morning, pick-up at hotel for
a horse riding tour on the sturdy
Icelandic horse. (Each participant
is given a horse suitable for his or
hers riding skills. Experienced
staff assists the group and escort
them on a riding tour across lava
fields and through hillsides in
beautiful surroundings. In the afternoon, a 2, 5 hours whalewatching tour from Reykjavik's old
harbor. Free pick-up at hotel
available. Overnight stay in Reykjavík.

Transfer to Keflavik Airport by FlyBus.

South and West
Iceland
Southern Iceland offers a
great variety of natural
grandeur, including geysers,
waterfalls and geothermal
areas with natural hot springs.
The west of Iceland is the
scene of many of the old Icelandic sagas. One can find
mountains and glaciers, vibrant birdlife, rivers and lakes,
fjords and bays and substantial geothermal activity in the
area. The Westfjord peninsula
is as isolated as it is spectacular.
Day 1
Arrival transfer
Pick-up of car at Keflavík Airport
or travel by Fly bus to Reykjavík
and pick-up the car the next day.
Transfer to hotel in Reykjavík.
Optional: Visit to the Blue Lagoon.
Day 2
Reykjavík – Þjórsárdalur Valley – Golden Circle – Selfoss
Morning drive via Hveragerði
greenhouse village to the
Þjórsárdalur Valley. Once this
was a fertile valley but it was laid
waste by the volcano Hekla in the
12th century. Archaeological excavations in the area have uncov-
ered over 30 farms that were destroyed in this one eruption. One
of them, Stöng, has been rebuilt
and is an excellent example of a
farmhouse from that era. From
Þjórsárdalur continue to Gullfoss,
the most impressive of Icelandic
waterfalls, and then to the Geysir
geothermal area. Although the
Great Geysir (from which the international term geyser is derived)
has stopped erupting on a regular
basis, the same cannot be said of
its companion, Strokkur. It spouts
up to 20 meters every 5-7 minutes, a sight not easily forgotten.
Continue to Selfoss for overnight
stay for the next two nights.
Optional: Fontana Spa at Lake
Laugarvatn.
Day 3
Seljalandsfoss - Sólheimajökull Glacier – Skógar - Vík
Today´s first stop is at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can
walk behind the waterfall. Then
go to Skógar and visit the folk museum and the Skógar waterfall.
Continue to the foot of Sólheimajökull, an impressive glacier and
then to the bird cliffs at Vík where
it is possible to get a glimpse of
puffins and other cliff-birds, depending on time of the year. Return to Selfoss where you
overnight again.

Day 4
Selfoss - Þingvellir National
Park – Borgarnes - Stykkishólmur
From Selfoss drive to Þingvellir
National Park, the site of Iceland´s ancient parliament. There,
as early as AD 930, Icelandic
Vikings gathered for legislative
sessions which continued until the
late 18th century. The area has
been designated a national park
and is now on the UNESCO
World Heritage List. Þingvellir is a
most interesting geological site.
The continental drift between the
North American and Eurasian
Plates can be clearly seen in the
fissures and faults which are traversing the region, the biggest
one, Almannagjá, a true canyon.
Onwards via the highland road
Uxahryggir and Kaldidalur to the
valleys of Borgarfjörður, rich in
history and beauty. This is where
Snorri Sturluson lived in the 12th
century and wrote his most famous works, Heimskringla and
Snorra Edda. These works are regarded worldwide as classic literary and historical masterpieces.

We stop at the waterfalls Hraunfossar and Barnafossar before
continuing through the valleys of
Borgarfjörður to the town of Borgarnes, where it is possible to
visit the Settlement Centre, which
gives good insight into the settlement of Iceland. Proceed to
Stykkishólmur, on the Northern
coast of the Snæfellsnes peninsula.
Optional: Boat tour on the
Breiðarfjörður bay.
Day 5
Stykkishólmur - Baldur Ferry
- Látrabjarg
The ferry Baldur takes you from
Stykkishólmur across the
Breiðafjörður Bay to Brjánslækur,
on the southern coast of the West
fjord peninsula. Our destination is
the westernmost point of Europe,
the 444 meter-high cliff of Látrabjarg, with millions of birds. The
route passes near the museum of
Egill Ólafsson at Hnjótur, with a
unique collection of old objects
from the West fjords which offers
a clear insight into daily life in
centuries past. Return in the afternoon to Brjánslækur, to catch the
ferry back to Stykkishólmur. (Or
drive back, if wanted)
first stop is at Bjarnarhöfn shark
farm, for a shark tasting. Onwards
on the northern coast of the
peninsula through the small villages of Grundarfjörður, Ólafsvík,
Rif and Hellissandur all of which
lie at the foot of one of Iceland´s
most majestic and impressive glaciers, Snæfellsjökull. The glacier,
an inactive volcano, is the setting
for Jules Verne´s novel “Journey
to the Centre of Earth”. The tour
continues through the rugged lava
fields along the southern coastline
to the tiny village of Hellnar, with
its unique coffee house and on to
Arnarstapi with its fascinating rock
formations and bird cliffs. Return
to Reykjavik in the late afternoon.

Stykkishólmur - Snæfellsnes
- Reykjavík

Northern Lights Winter
Tour
This tour takes you to the
North of Iceland, to lake Mývatn area. Lake Mývatn is situated just below the Arctic
Circle. Many natural phenomena can be found in the area
such as volcanic craters, impressive canyons, powerful
waterfalls and more. Watching
the Northern Lights is a huge
part of the winter experience
at lake Mývatn.
Day 1
Flight - Reykjavík - Akureyri Mývatn
Transfer on own or private transfer to Reykjavik Airport for a
morning flight to Akureyri Airport.
From the airport you will be driven
to lake Mývatn. After check in at
the hotel, Sel-Hótel, you will have
a guided sightseeing tour of the
area stopping at Dimmuborgir
lava fields, Höfði community park
and Hverarönd mud pools. In the
evening we recommend a walk
around the area to look for Northern Lights. Free entrees to the
Northern Light Shelter.
Day 2
Optional:
Snowmobile: an adventurous
snowmobile tour out on the
frozen lake Mývatn
Country tour: Visit a hydroelectric
power station, an old turf farm,
Húsavík fishing village and a
Whale Museum.
Mývatn Nature Baths: Enjoy the
warm water of the lagoon, that is
beneficial both for skin and spirit.
Cross Country Skiing: Off track
tours for both beginners and
more experienced skiers.
Ice Delights: Activities in the “winter garden” on the frozen lake;
Bowling, skating, mini golf, gocart and more.
Day 3
Super Jeep Tour - Dettifoss
Waterfall
You will be taken on a Super Jeep
tour to Dettifoss
waterfall, Europe´s most
powerful waterfall. Dettifoss is
an especially
unforgettable
sight in winter
time.
Day 4
Flight - Akureyri - Reykjavík
Time on own in the morning to
enjoy what the area has to offer.
Transfer to Akureyri Airport for a
afternoon flight to Reykjavik. Taxi
transfer or private transfer to your
Reykjavík hotel.
