Dear Potential Sponsor: Thank you for considering becoming a sponsor of the Red Ants Pants Music Festival. As you may know, Red Ants Pants is the first company dedicated to making workwear for women. Founded in 2006, our products are made in the USA. The first ever Red Ants Pants Music Festival was held in 2011 and is an annual event held in the town of White Sulphur Springs, MT! We also formed the Red Ants Pants Foundation in 2011, as a non-profit arm of the company. The foundation is in support of women’s leadership, working family farms and ranches, and rural communities. A portion of the Music Festival profits goes to the Red Ants Pants Foundation. We are very excited about the enthusiasm and support surrounding this year’s event. As always, the 2013 festival will not only include top-notch musical performers, such as Merle Haggard, Robert Earl Keen, Donna the Buffalo, and more, but will have a focus on agriculture and the work skills that represent our company, the Red Ants Pants Foundation, and our community. During the 2012 Music Festival, we had fantastic headlining names (like Emmylou Harris, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Taj Mahal), and had nearly 9,000 attendees descend upon our ranching town in rural Montana. Local food, Montana beer and wine, arts and crafts, and agricultural demonstrations entertained festival attendees throughout the weekend. We anticipate having even more people attend the event this year! Our promotional campaign for the Red Ants Pants Music Festival includes national and statewide radio, full-page ad placement in many regional print publications, TV spots on major networks across Montana, and thousands of posters distributed around the tri-state region (MT, ID, WY). Our social media campaign includes Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube videos. Our festival website has already had over 260,000 hits. In addition to Music Festival sponsorship opportunities, we have advertising opportunities available for the Festival Newspaper. We look forward to this mutually beneficial collaboration! Thank you so much for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Sarah Calhoun Founding Owner of Red Ants Pants and the Red Ants Pants Music Festival Page |2 What is the Red Ants Pants Foundation: Who we are: Founded by Sarah Calhoun, Red Ants Pants is a company dedicated to making workwear for women. We are headquartered in White Sulphur Springs, a rural community with a population of 900 in central Montana. To show support for the hardworking side of Montana and beyond, the Red Ants Pants Foundation was born in 2011. The Foundation supports women’s leadership, working family farms and ranches, and rural communities; the three things most important to Calhoun, the company, and the Red Ants Pants Community. Sarah Calhoun Founding Director In 2012, the Foundation hosted its first ever Timber Skills workshop, a five-day chainsaw and basic timber construction course. And, we completed our first Grant Cycle, selecting ten highly-deserving grant recipients to receive Foundation support. In 2011, Calhoun and the Red Ants Pants team put on the first annual Red Ants Pants Music Festival. 6,000 people came from all over the US and Canada to a cow pasture in rural Montana to enjoy some top notch music including Lyle Lovett, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Guy Clark. In 2012, we saw nearly 9,000 attendees and headliners such as Emmylou Harris, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Taj Mahal. A portion of the Music Festival profits goes to the Red Ants Pants Foundation to help support the Foundation’s community grant cycle, skills workshops, and leadership conferences. THE MISSION OF THE RED ANTS PANTS FOUNDATION To develop and expand leadership roles for women To preserve and support working family farms and ranches To enrich and promote rural communities THE VALUES OF THE RED ANTS PANTS FOUNDATION To recognize and cultivate a strong work ethic To encourage and build self-reliance, especially for women To educate the public on the importance of maintaining traditional work skills To provide opportunities for people with different perspectives to connect, build bridges, and discover common ground. Having grown up on a farm and done years of work leading trail crews and instructing for Outward Bound, Sarah Calhoun became fed up with the lack of workwear for women. So she moved to Montana and started a business making workwear for women in 2006. Red Ants Pants is headquartered in White Sulphur Springs, Montana, and all products are Made in the USA.
