Registration: Opens at 1:30 p.m. and closes 20 minutes prior to each event.
Entry Fees: $20.00 pre-registration before 10:00 p.m. MDT on June 8, $30.00 on day of race. Second race will be
$10.00. Free for kid’s races. $10.00 for Juniors. No late fees for Junior races. Riders can enter the criterium and
Sunday’s circuit race on Saturday and pay $50.00 for both races. No registration for just the circuit race on Saturday.
Keep your race number for both races.
All USA Cycling rules apply – helmets required at all times when riding. Free lap rule in effect. Races held rain or
shine.
Course: A flat, .7-mile, 10-block, 6-corner L-shape on city streets.
Directions: From US Highway 30 take South Duff Avenue north to Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street then left
again into the parking lots south of downtown. Registration is at the start/finish just west of the intersection of Main
Street and Kellogg Avenue. Do not park in the Fareway Grocery lot NW of the course.
Food & Lodging: There are several places to eat in and around downtown Ames and along South Duff Avenue. There
are many other places to eat scattered around the city. Ask race volunteers for recommendations. There are hotels along
Highway 30 on University Boulevard that are adjacent to Sunday’s circuit race plus many other hotels somewhat farther
away. Most hotels are in the eastern part of Ames along Highway 30 and Interstate 35 and an easy drive from both
courses.
Iowa Cup: The Ames Grand Prix is the central event of the Iowa Cup which began with the Iowa City Road Race and
Old Capitol Criterium in May and ends with the Sakari Road Race and East Village Criterium in August. The Iowa Cup
is open to all riders, not just Iowans.

loop at the north end. The route includes 3 traffic circles to break up the longest straight stretch of road.
