The purpose of this dissertation (Reaction of the Sudetengerman press to the
Munich Agreement in October 1938) was to analyse the reaction of the Sudetengerman
press to the Munich Agreement and events in the Sudetengerman region which immediately
came after the signing of the Munich Agreement.
The criteria of the research and the sample of the newspapers were set on the basis of
specialized historical publications and the archival origins (Chapters I, II). The hypothesis
presupposed that the Sudetengerman newspapers agreed to the new situation in the
Sudetengerman region and the Nazi regime.
The analysis was divided in two parts: historical analysis and content analysis.
