New Student Orientation 2015 FRIDAY, AUGUST 14 9 a.m.–1 p.m. NEW STUDENT MOVE-IN The Transylvania community will be available to assist you as you help your student move in. Please observe the signs that will direct you to the unloading area. 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. OFFICES OPEN TO ASSIST YOU After check-in, you may want to visit with representatives from different college departments and programs who will answer questions and describe their services. Some of the participating departments include dining services, accounting, bookstore, financial aid, disability services, Crimson Card services and student life. 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. PICNIC LUNCH Back Circle Take a break from moving in and meet other students and families. 12:30–2 p.m. ALUMNI LEGACY LUNCH (By invitation) Graham Cottage 4:30–6:30 p.m. A TASTE OF KENTUCKY Forrer Dining Hall Enjoy local cuisine. C-LIFE AFTER TRANSYLVANIA Faculty and Staff Lounge, Mitchell Fine Arts It’s never too early to start thinking about life after Transylvania. Career Development staff will help parents understand the four-year process students should use for life planning. 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. FIRST-YEAR INDUCTION CEREMONY Haggin Auditorium, Mitchell Fine Arts Center Parents and family members are encouraged to attend as the class of 2019 is officially inaugurated into the Transylvania community. After lunch, say your farewells and give your student time to adjust on their own to their new home away from home.
