Welcome to Transylvania!
The two-day parent orientation will prepare both
you and your student for the first year of college.
To help make this transition a smooth one, meet
with staff from a variety of departments—from
financial aid to dining services—and participate
in panel discussions about both the curricular and
co-curricular experience.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 14
9 a.m.–1 p.m.
NEW STUDENT MOVE-IN
The Transylvania community will be available
to assist you as you help your student move in.
Please observe the signs that will direct you to
the unloading area.
9 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
OFFICES OPEN TO ASSIST YOU
After check-in, you may want to visit with
representatives from different college departments and programs who will answer questions
and describe their services. Some of the
participating departments include dining
services, accounting, bookstore, financial aid,
disability services, Crimson Card services and
student life.
11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
PICNIC LUNCH
Back Circle
Take a break from moving in and meet other students and families.
12:30–2 p.m.
ALUMNI LEGACY LUNCH (By invitation)

Enjoy local cuisine. Students on a meal plan admitted with meal card. Parents and guests admitted

It’s never too early to start thinking about life
after Transylvania. Career Development staff
will help parents understand the four-year
process students should use for life planning.

Parents and family members are encouraged to
attend as the class of 2019 is officially inaugurated into the Transylvania community. Dressy
casual attire.

For those parents with one last question, join
the Student Affairs staff and other offices for a
farewell luncheon. After lunch, say your farewells and give your student time to adjust on
their own to their new home away from home.
