Geometry Lab Mrs. Shade – room 204 Course Syllabus and Expectations 2013-14 Course Description: Geometry is defined as, “The mathematical study of the properties of measurement, and relationships of points, lines, planes, surfaces, angles, and solids” (The American Heritage Science Dictionary). Students will have multiple opportunities to correct and improve their scores. In the room when the bell rings and have materials out and ready. 2. Any purse or bag must remain on floor, under your desk during class. 3. You need permission from teacher before using any electronic device (other than approved calculator). 4. Actively take part in all class work. 5. Keep track of your grade on a daily basis, and keep assignments in case of grade discrepancy. 6. Have appropriate supplies *textbook, *paper, *pencil, *folder, *calculator compass and protractor (when needed) *If you repeatedly do not have needed supplies in class, disciplinary actions will be taken. Absent/Late Work Policy: Students are responsible for gathering missed work on their first day back to class. If a student is participating in a school field trip, the student is not considered “absent” and therefore assignments are due as if the student was present. Classroom work Guidelines: o Class work is to be completed during the class period. o Points will be deducted if you are not working on the assigned problems. Restroom/Locker Pass: A student will be given 3 passes that may be used with teacher permission to go to the restroom or locker during a semester. Teacher will keep track of passes. HELP OPTIONS: 1.
