LSA’s Riverside office is seeking an Assistant Transportation Planner/Engineer. Candidates should
be familiar with the fundamentals of traffic engineering and level of service analysis. The ideal
candidate will have experience in the development of computer scripts and macros, technical analysis,
and documentation to support the implementation of travel demand forecasting models; development,
implementation, and analysis of travel behavior surveys; and utilization of travel models, intersection
level of service software (e.g., Synchro, Vistro, Traffix), and microsimulation software (e.g., VisSim,
TransModeler). The candidate should also have the ability to convey complex technical information
through report writing, including documentation of complex topics in a concise and understandable
manner.
Desired skills include familiarity with modern travel model software (e.g., TransCAD, Visum,
Cube/Voyager); programming or scripting languages (e.g., GISDK, Visual Basic, C++, Python);
traffic operations software (e.g., Synchro, Vistro, Traffix); geographic information system (GIS)
applications; research of transportation, land use, and environmental topics; and spreadsheet (e.g.,
Excel) applications.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in transportation planning, traffic
engineering, urban planning, or a related field. LSA offers competitive pay; medical, dental, vision,
